We recommend our Japan Family Journey with National Geographic. This tour is designed for families and teens, typically ages 7+. The itineraries blend learning, hands-on activities, and downtime so children stay engaged while adults enjoy meaningful travel experiences. Days are shorter and more balanced with breaks, free time, and manageable transitions to reduce travel fatigue.

Can we add a tour or two of the city and some other things we'd like to experience: Summo, tea service, Geisha.

We'd like to do many or all of: Shibuya, Asakusa, Tsukiji, Meiji, Teamlab, and maybe a Summo demonstration, Geshia and Tea service.

Does this tour require early rising and on a bus and hours of travel per day, or is it more relaxed? What is the approximate schedule of this tour? We are interested in a tour that may stay in one location for 2-3 days and explore each city from a home base?

For this tour, you stay 1-2 nights in each city, it is a bit more on the go in order to see all these places in just 9 days! Wake up is usually early in the morning for travel days only, and travelling is as follows: Day 2: Osaka/Kōyasan - 3 hours train, Day 3: Kōyasan/Hiroshima - 5 hours train, Day 5: Hiroshima/Kyoto - 1 hour and 30 minutes train, Day 7: Kyoto/Hakone - 3 hours train. A tour that is a bit more relaxed where you stay longer in each place is Journeys: Iconic Japan.

Are the prices quoted for 1 person only? I am travelling on my own. Also is it possible to book a room with a double bed

Our prices are based on twin share accomodation with somebody of the same gender. We do offer 'My Own Room', please let us know the date of departure you are looking at along with your currency, and we can give you a quote on this.

Looking at departing Tokyo around 20 June 2025 & a tour like this would be ideal.

We don't have the exact tour in reverse but we a similar tour called Back Roads of Japan starting in Tokyo either on June 7th or June 28th. Would those dates work?

Can 11 years old child travel with the group - Japan tours on May 5th. She is 11, but very mature, toll and looks and behaves like 14 years old. Can a child stay in the room with parents?

We have a minimum age requirement on this tour of 12 years old. We can highly recommend this Japan tour however, in which an 11 year old would be more than welcome.

Helpful and pleasant he was a source of knowledge and looked after us.Hotels were generally okay to good. The activities were interesting but perhaps have some extra pay extra such as a cooking class. Maybe explain beforehand about the luggage packing for the night and next day. I would recommend this tour to anyone who is physically fit as there is much walking.Show more

I am writing as I was very upset to realise that the whole tour was by public transport which I wouldn’t have chosen for myself - a 58 year old with a heart problem. A number of things make the cost of the tour that I paid for ridiculously expensive and I feel you have taken advantage of me. They are the following: 1) I booked with TourRadar and you put me on G adventures without letting me Know how physically challenging it would be especially handing my bag and knapsack on public transport. 2) 7!cities in 9 days is actually untrue as there was no tour of Osaka. 3) check in times were inconsistent and never to our benefit. On Hakone we could Only check-in at 5:30pm and we departed the next morning at 8:30. I have paid a lot for this trip and been treated like a budget traveller. 3) how do you expect a local travel guide to help me with my bags though Keiko did a great job helping but I was fortunate that one of the group members helped me with my main luggage. What would have happened to me if he didn’t? For these reasons stated above, I feel cheated and comparing prices with the others from the US and UK who were on the same trip, I paid the most. What are you going to do about this?Show more
