Amazing cooking classes/demonstrations. You will have a newfound deep appreciation of Indian Food and India after this tour. This was my first time in India and I could not think of a better way to have been introduced to the country.

We have been truly privileged to have been introduced to India through the Intrepid Real Food Tour led by the legendary Chetan Shankar Jha. This extraordinary trip which not only focussed on the amazing food, as the title of the tour suggests, but was rich in Hindu and Mughal history, saturated in culture, inspired with architectural beauty and grandeur, overlayed with political reality and progress as well as juxtaposed with geographic contrast. This trip surpassed all my expectations. Not only was the itinerary very carefully constructed but our guide, Chetan, made it an extraordinary experience through his personalised tailoring to optimize every experience- such as chai moments on the roof tops of Jaipur and everywhere else at sunset, our sunrise at the Taj, chai in the alleys of Delhi, chai in down town Karauli where we were the only visitors and taking us to a market in Mumbai in order to buy something glitteringly-suitable to wear to the Taj Hotel for High Tea. (Just a few examples) We cannot thank you enough, Chetan, for making our adventure in India truly inspiring and teaching us so much. Our highlights of the trip were; our wonderful group who shared so generously their joy of being in India; the food and the experience of learning some cooking techniques, especially in the indian homes; the heritage stays (WOW) and village experiences including visiting a local school, and lunch by the lake in Rajasthan. The over-night train from Udaipur to Mumbai is also not to be missed!! If you should book an Intrepid Tours in India ask for Chetan Shanker Jha by name. I will be!! Julie-Clare and Martin, Australia

The trip was excellent. The guide, Chetan Shanker Jha, was exceptional. He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, passionate and led the tour very well. He helped the group bond together, and impressed us all with his extensive knowledge of India and beyond. The itinerary was very good. I was impressed with the level of inclusions, which made the tour very good value. In particular, the food-based content was very good. The standard of accomodation was good, with several properties (notably the heritage stays) being excellent. The transportation was mostly excellent. The overnight train was worth doing for the experience, but did leave us all quite tired on arrival into Mumbai. I feel we really got a feel for the life in some of the cities, as well as in rural Rajasthan, and went well beyond the usual tourist sites.

The Real Food Adventure India trip surpassed my expectations, a beautiful country and having the trip centred around the amazing food made it extra special. I will be doing more food trips in the future! Chetan Shanker Jha was our tour leader and simply put, the best guide I have had on any trip (and I have taken many with many different tour companies). He was extremely passionate, and an encyclopedia of knowledge, not to mention a gracious and very entertaining host!

This was an amazing tour and is not just for foodies!! This tour explores a large portion of India's tourist sites and attractions, as well as some really intimate and special incounters wit local villages and communities. I had a blast and was so lucky to have a local tour leader with so much knowledge and passion! Can't wait to do my next tour with intrepid.

15 day food adventure tour in India was a great experience that I would recommend to anyone up for the full frontal attack on your senses. The heat, smells, tastes, and noise are full on. Our tour guide Saurabh was fantastic giving us the right information and advise as required. It was obvious he was passionate about his country and culture. The cooking classes and attractions were just what was required. We had a great mix of time in the cities with time out in the country. The tour was pretty busy with arranged activities but also the freedom and time to do our own thing. Saurabh gave great advise on options for our spare time and was flexible enough to change the arranged itenary due to weather, or people's preferences.

An amazing adventure - from majestic monuments and palaces, to bustling markets and street life, experiencing spicy delights and the colour, sounds and vitality of Delhi, Imperial Rajasthan, Mumbai and Goa. Our tour guide Chetan was simply the best I have ever encountered. Every day of the tour was an amazing experience and moments to be remembered for a long time because of his knowledge of food, history and his professionalism and personality. Thank you Chetan and Intrepid.
