Cape Town
You'll arrive at Cape Town International Airport and get transferred to your accommodation, whether that's a backpacker lodge or deluxe guesthouse depending on what you've chosen. After settling in from your journey, the rest of the day is yours to relax and get oriented to the city.

- Day 2
Cape Town
This day is completely open for you to explore Cape Town however you'd like. Table Mountain, Signal Hill, Robben Island, Hout Bay, Camps Bay, Clifton Beach, and the V&A Waterfront are all options. Constantia's worth checking out too if wine interests you. Many people find the City Sightseeing Bus helpful for getting your bearings around the city on your first full day.

Another free day to keep discovering Cape Town or simply take things easy. You might revisit somewhere you liked yesterday or try something different. It's really whatever pace works best for you at this point in the trip.

- Day 4
Cape Town to Cape Agulhas
You'll head south along the Cape coastline toward Hermanus, stopping in Bettys Bay to see the endangered African penguin colony. After that, explore Hermanus town where you might spot Southern Right Whales if you're traveling between July and November. Later you'll continue to Cape Agulhas, the southernmost point of Africa, where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans actually meet.

Cape Agulhas to Oudtshoorn
Today follows Route 62, which is South Africa's longest wine route. You'll stop at a local winery for tasting and lunch before heading to Oudtshoorn, known as the Ostrich Capital. You're staying at a working game farm, and in the evening you'll visit an ostrich farm with views of the Outeniqua and Swartberg mountain ranges stretching out around you.

Oudtshoorn to Sedgefield
After crossing the Outeniqua Mountain Pass, you'll reach Wilderness National Park and paddle down the Touw River by canoe through lush forest. Then it's a 2 km hike to a waterfall and rock pool. From there you'll head to Sedgefield to spend the rest of the day relaxing on its pristine beaches.

Sedgefield to Addo
You'll travel to Knysna through the beautiful Lake District of the Garden Route, stopping at a viewpoint for views of the Knysna River estuary and Indian Ocean. Next comes Tsitsikamma National Park where you'll see Bloukrans Bridge, site of the world's highest bungee jump. Spend time hiking and swimming in the park, cross a suspension bridge, then head toward Addo as evening approaches.

- Day 8
Addo to Port Elizabeth
Your final morning includes a 2 to 3 hour safari through Addo Elephant National Park, where you'll see approximately 600 elephants along with zebra, kudu, eland, warthog, and Big 5 wildlife. By early afternoon you'll depart for Port Elizabeth, giving you plenty of time to catch international flights heading out in the early evening.
