Sarah "LOVED this tour - it's only 8 days but it covers so much. It has so many highlights, my favourite one was the stay in a local palace in Karauli - an area right off the beaten track that you'd never find if you were travelling independently. We had dinner with the prince and princess and they were just the most gorgeous couple and gave us an amazing insight into Indian rural life. The shopping i..."

The Itinerary and tour itself is well planned and organised. The accommodation is of an acceptable standard for India. There are very few included meals and the guides used at the sites were very good. The bus used by Intrepid has no suspension and was extremely bumpy, so would recommend people sit in the front where the ride seemed to be a little better. Our biggest issue was with the training of Intrepids "leaders". We would prefer a guide with us not a "leader" who saw his job as only to take us from place to place and organise tour guides at the stops. He did not explain things as we were travelling on the bus, no passion for his country and didn't feel the need to let us know what was happening outside the bus during the many hours of travel. Our leader is a nice person who made an effort to recognise birthdays and help unwell members of the group but he mostly sat quietly on the bus unless we asked him questions. Intrepid should ensure that the "leader" explains the dangers of riding the metro and make sure that all women go into the women only carriages. Our "leader" did not do this and we had two women subjected to sexual assaults on the train. We have never felt so unsafe in all our years of travelling. We would not use Intrepid again nor recommend them to our friends.

Hi, Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us. We’re disappointed to read that you were not satisfied with your local leader. We purposely choose to use both leaders and local guides on our trips so that we can support the communities that we visit, and to make sure that we are getting the most knowledgeable person possible to guide you around specific sights. However, we do expect our local leaders to be a wealth of information, advice and tips throughout the trip (as well as celebrating birthdays and helping unwell passengers). It sounds like this was not the case for you, and we would love the opportunity to more fully understand your experience. Please feel free to contact our Customer Relations team who will be happy to further address your concerns: customerrelations@intrepidtravel.com Kind regards, Intrepid

I took part in the Golden Triangle tour, as a solo female. Leave your preconceived ideas at home, you won't find them here. The trip took in some great locations and the accommodation was clean and comfortable. Be prepared for humidity, heat and organised chaos. Before choosing a group tour remember you will be with strangers, although you will make friends, and as such they don't want/need to know the intimate details of your life... there is such a thing as TMI! Please read the trip notes and be aware of customs, especially tipping and clothing... and remember that your behaviour choices impact/reflect on the other group members

The trip is very expensive for what it is. First we started in New Delhi in hotel Kyron. This hotel is the worst hotel I've ever been to, with rats and bedbugs, not cleaned and only hot water shower on request. We did some tour in old delhi but the highlights are not covered (like the red fort, gandhi, indian gate). For everything extra tips were asked. Next, we went to Jaipur with the train, the hotel is somewhat ok for a 2-star hotel. The guide introduced us to 2 shops, one with cotton and silk, one with yewels. Waste of time as you should not buy there. I bought the same stuff on the market for 5times lower prices. We went to the agra fort with a guide, that was nice, however keep in mind that you still have to pay the guide... After Jaipur, we went to Kaurali. I was sick that day so could not join, hotel was ok. Last but not least we visited Agra. The hotel was more or less ok for a 2-star. We visited the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort. The guide for the Red fort had to be payed still. After that we came back in new Delhi, we had to give the drivers some tips and our facilitator. Overall my worst tour I've ever been to. Price/quality very poor.

My wife & I joined 10 other Intrepid tourists in Delhi for our Golden Triangle experience. Our guide Gajraj (Raj) Singh and two assistants ‘VJ’ and ‘Harsh’ held a very comprehensive and detailed briefing at the hotel to open the tour, local customs & culture and the environment which stood us in good stead throughout our travels. At all times Raj marshalled and mentored the Group with great patience through the streets of each city we visited with emphasis on personal safety while at the same time outlined each location’s highlights & historic development through the centuries. Each of our guides contributed much in overall conversation and interest to make our tour one of the most memorable we have taken in any country. Of particular note, was the value-added side tours such as the Bollywood movie cinema, the craft stops, Raj’ recommended restaurants, and the underground rail trips all of which added to our own interests & knowledge of India. We can highly recommend the Intrepid ‘Golden Triangle’ tour to anyone and we wish our guides the very best.

Traveled to India in April and loved it! Such an amazing country and phenomenal to get a personal insight into the local culture, a rich and varied history and most importantly - the food!!! We did a street-food tour in Delhi which was amazing - our leader knew which stalls had the best (and safest!) food and it was all amazing. An absolute highlight.

This is a perfect tour my wife and myself made last December. Group leader showed excellent knowledge throughout the tour and the fellows in the tour group were awesome too. It was our first group tour, and we feel grateful and delighted with the Intrepid. We are planning to go back to India soon, and would possibly join Intrepid for their Nepal tour this year.

    • Is there a hotel list available?

The tour operator has advised that they do not have a hotel list available for this tour, as all accommodations are subject to change until 4-6 weeks before the departure date. After the booking is made you will be issued your final trip documents with your specific accommodation details. That being said, on this tour you will be staying 1 night on a heritage property and 6 nights in hotels. An example of a hotel that they generally stay at on this tour is Hotel Good Times - hopefully, this can give you an idea of the kind of accommodation you can expect on tour.

    • When and where does the tour end?

This tour concludes with check-out from Hotel Good Times in Delhi is at 12 pm, however, if you are departing later, you can arrange luggage storage at the hotel. It's time to say farewell to your Travel Director and new-found friends as your memorable holiday comes to an end. If you decide to stay an extra couple of days, there are plenty of activities in and around the city to enjoy. Please be aware the hotel is subject to change until your final documents are released.

    • When and where does the tour start?

This tour generally starts from Hotel Good Times in Delhi and as the first day is just an arrivals day you can arrive at any time. After check-in, you can relax and unwind, before meeting with your Travel Director and fellow travellers at 6 pm. If you arrive early on the first day of the tour, you can perhaps visit the World Heritage-listed Humayun's Tomb, Qutub Minar or Red Fort of Delhi. Please be aware the starting hotel is subject to change until your final documents are released.

Your website was very simple to use. I was able to find exactly what I wanted and when I wanted my tour. The price was also a big factor in choosing your company. As I have done a Cosmos tour before, I knew it would be good value for the price.
