Your Baltic Experience tour shows a lot of optonals. Are they guided? How far in advance do I need to book them?

All optional activities are booked in destination with your trip leader. Each day they will go over what's available and assist travellers in booking in their activity(s) of choice. Whether the activity is guided or self-guided may depend on the activity itself. For many of the activities listed the cost is merely just the cost of entry, for example a lot of the museums, or cathedrals listed, unless it specifically states a guided tour, is just the cost of entry. Whereas, something like the Beer Spa, may provide a more interactive experience with local guides.

Which are the type and places were you arranged the accommodation (which hotel, guest house etc)? Is it possible to start our program in the 3rd day, and to missed the first two and to exclude this part from the price?

Accommodation will be in - Hotel (9 nights), Homestay (2 nights). You can join the trip at any point of the trip, but there wont be any refunds or reimbursements for the missed days

Outstanding tour, with excellent guide, fascinating recent history of these countries which have endured so much. I was blown away by the depth of spontaneous support for Ukraine 🇺🇦. Particularly special was the usual Intrepid mix of nationalities, interacting with the locals, and the use of public transport. The inclusion of cycling on the spit opposite Kaliningrad, and kayaking in a Lithuanian national park, was spot on… with choices for a disparate group. Thoroughly enjoyable, and I learned a great deal as well!Show more

The Baltic Experience tour was a lot of fun! Our Tour Leader, Agata, was superb! The small tour size (we had six participants) meant we got to know each other well. The tour had a perfect mix of planned group activities and time to explore the sites on our own. The on-line tour description was accurate and extensive. Three cautions: Travel insurance is MANDATORY, somewhat expensive, and not included in the tour price. Many, like me, will commit to the tour not knowing this additional cost will be tacked on. Second, the tour sometimes involves significant walking (up to 30 minutes) from transportation facilities to hotels while carrying your own bags (two weeks of baggage), as well as walking tours that sometimes involve climbing as many as 800 steps. This is a tour for fairly young and fit participants. Finally, European hotels and home-stay facilities generally don't have air conditioning or screened windows, meaning sometimes in the summer you will have to choose between sleeping in hot, stuffy rooms or opening the windows for mosquitoes to enter. All that said, this was a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable experience and I would highly recommend it for fit, adventurous people with positive attitudes who can tolerate occasional less-than-luxurious accommodations.Show more

  This trip does include a group leader and guided activities at many key stops, but it is not "fully guided" in the sense that you are with a guide every minute of every day. The itinerary is designed to give you a mix of included guided experiences and free time to explore on your own at your own pace. Your group leader will be there to help with logistics, give local insights, assist with travel between destinations, and offer suggestions for what to see and do, but there will also be plenty of opportunities for independent exploration, meals, and sightseeing.

The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
