I liked the itinerary—we covered most of the major sights. The tour guide was knowledgeable and punctual. The only issue I had was that he made several negative comments about different groups of people. First, he said that the Rapa Nui people don’t like outsiders coming to Easter Island. That made me very uncomfortable, especially since I am also an outsider. Considering that tourism is a source of income for the Rapa Nui people, that comment felt unkind. Second, he mentioned multiple times that Rapa Nui people don’t like Chinese people. Although I may have made similar observations, I would not share them with anyone except those very close to me. Those kinds of comments should not be shared with clients. Hearing this repeatedly made me wonder what he might be saying about other groups, including Americans or Filipinos (I am a U.S. citizen of Filipino heritage). Third, he made negative comments about the owner of one of the restaurants I visited. He mentioned that they do not like the owner, and I don’t understand why he would share that with me. Finally, he also made a comment about a French company—I believe it was an oil company—but the context was unclear. Overall, these types of remarks are inappropriate to make to a client. They felt rude and unprofessional.Show more

Payment information
- For any tour departing before June 19th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after June 19th, 2026, a minimum payment of 10% is required to confirm your booking with Signature DMC. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
