    Asked on November 10th, 2025

Is April a good month for this cycling tour? Is the price including the bicycles?

    Tour Details
    • Adventure SouthOperatorWritten November 2025

April is a great time to visit - the weather will be cooler but more settled and there are less crowds. We don't have trip operating around your dates though sorry - but we do have availability on the 24 February departure if you are also looking at this. Bike hire is an additional cost, we have Ebikes, hard tail mountain bikes and road bikes available for this trip.

Does the posted price include Cycle rental?

    • Adventure SouthOperatorWritten August 2025

The bike is an additional cost, this is due to the high number of participants we have who bring their own bikes on these tours.

What is the cost of rental cycles? Road or hybrid?

    • Adventure SouthOperatorWritten August 2025

Our hard tail non electric touring bikes are NZ$210 per person per hire, and our road drop bar bikes are NZ$350 per person per hire for this tour.

    Connie

    Asked on November 21st, 2023

Is this tour fully supported with a van? Can I look up accommodation type before booking. Is it a mountain bike that I would be renting? Is the riding very technical? I do a lot of road cycling but have little experience on a mtb.

    • Adventure SouthOperatorWritten November 2023

Adventure South offers fully guided and supported tours and the cost includes all accommodation on tour, most food and tasty snacks, professional guides and support vehicles. Marlborough and West Coast Cycle is a dedicated 'Road Cycling' trip rather than trail/off road. It is important that cyclists are assertive and have good road biking skills. Some of the days are 80km+. But we do have the support vehicle as a backup. On our road cycling tours our road bikes that we hire for an additional fee provide the ultimate cycling experience.
