Your ship is ready for boarding once flights arrive by 3:30 pm, and you'll need to be on board by 5 pm. Until then, check out Amsterdam's 700-year-old streets with their charming architecture. Walk through neighborhoods, stop at local cafés, grab a bite at restaurants, and browse the lively marketplace. It's a good chance to get your bearings before the ship departs.

Amsterdam
This morning your Adventure Host leads walks through Amsterdam's canals. You can either head to Chateau Amsterdam for a wine tasting or take a guided canal cruise to see historic homes from the Golden Age. After lunch, it's up to you whether to join optional excursions or wander through galleries and shops on your own. Later, there's an onboard lecture from your Certified Sommelier about wine.

Cologne
The ship reaches the Rhineland, and your morning starts with an onboard wine and cheese tasting led by your Certified Sommelier. From there, you choose your activity: a bike ride with your Adventure Host, a guided visit to Brühl Castle with wine tasting, or a city walk through Cologne to see the impressive twin-steepled gothic cathedral. Later, relax with a locally brewed Kölsch pale lager and catch live entertainment from local musicians on board.

Rüdesheim - Rhine Gorge
Sailing through the Rhine Gorge means you'll see ancient castles perched 400 feet above the water and the legendary Rock of the Lorelei. Pick from a guided hike along the Rheinsteig that visits the Benedictine Abbey of St. Hildegard to taste award-winning Riesling, or check out the Mechanical Music Museum with wine tasting. By evening, you're back on board for live entertainment.

Today the ship docks at Heidelberg. You can walk along the Philosophers' way with your Adventure Host, explore Schwetzingen Palace and its gardens, or take a guided tour of Heidelberg Castle to see the renaissance ruins and the Great Vat, which is actually the world's biggest wine barrel. There's plenty to discover depending on which option appeals to you.

Strasbourg offers several ways to explore. Your Adventure Host can lead an energizing or relaxing activity, you might bike through the city, or join a sightseeing tour that covers the Gothic cathedral with its ancient murals and astronomical clock plus the La Petite France District. There's also a guided tour along the Alsace Wine Route for wine sampling. This evening, there's an onboard food and wine pairing dinner with your Certified Sommelier and live entertainment.

Breisach - Black Forest - Colmar
You have choices for experiencing winemaking and the region. Either spend the full day on a guided tour to Colmar with its half-timbered medieval buildings and countryside chateau wine cellar, or explore the Black Forest visiting an open-air museum, an authentic water mill, and a traditional butter-making demonstration. If you prefer something shorter, there's a morning guided tour through Colmar's 'Little Venice' canals.

Basel - Mount Pilatus - Lucerne
After breakfast, you disembark and transfer by motorcoach to Mount Pilatus. The highlight is going up nearly 7,000 feet for views over central Switzerland (or visiting the Swiss Transport Museum if weather doesn't cooperate). Later in the day, a guided walk through Lucerne shows off the famous Chapel Bridge and other highlights.
