    Asked on June 22nd, 2026

Can the departure transfer accommodate an 11:00am flight departure, arriving at Geneva airport by 8:00–9:00am?

    Flights / Transfers
    • Exodus Adventure TravelsOperatorWritten June 2026

Departure transfer is timed to serve flights departing from 1230 at Geneva (GVA) on the last day of the tour 05 Sept. If flight times do not align with this, we encourage Mountain Drop Offs as we have been partnered with them for many years and shuttles have timings that can be booked to get passengers back to the Geneva Airport. You can reach the chalet easily by taking a bus transfer with a local company – make sure to book at least a week before your departure date. A one-way transfer (shared with other travellers) costs from €46 for a flexible booking and €41.50 for a super saver fixed booking with our partner Mountain Dropoffs. Shared transfers are not available for flights departing Geneva before 9.30am – in this case you would need to request a private transfer with Mountain Drop-offs, which is considerably more expensive (from €295 one-way).

As a solo traveler, you have the option for your own room or to share a room with another solo traveler in the group of same gender.

Airport transfers from Geneva Airport are included on the first and last day of the tour.

    Sandy

    Asked on May 28th, 2026

How is the payment made? Is there a comission for travel agent? What information do you need to make a reservation?

    Payments
    • Exodus Adventure TravelsOperatorWritten June 2026

Payments for tours booked through TourRadar are usually made online by credit or debit card directly through our secure platform. In many cases, you can either pay a deposit to secure your spot and pay the remaining balance later, or pay the full amount upfront, depending on the tour operator's policy. The exact options, amounts, and due dates are always shown during the booking process and in your booking confirmation.

Travel agent commission at TourRadar is set by each operator, typically ranging from 10-15% per booking. Commission is calculated on the tour brochure price only—add-ons, transfers, and insurance are excluded.

Agents can see the commission rate (%) on tour details page when logged in, and the exact amount appears in the price breakdown after selecting departure date and travellers

To complete a booking, we typically need:
      - Full name as per passport for each traveler
      - Date of birth for each traveler
      - Contact details (email and phone number)
      - Nationality and/or passport details (for some tours)
      - Preferred departure date and room type (e.g., single, twin, double)
At the payment stage, you will also need your payment card details.

Once you start the booking process on the tour's page, the system will guide you step by step and show exactly which details are required for that specific tour and operator.

    Asked on May 10th, 2026

i'm a 26 year solo travler in good shape, and i wanted to ask if this tour would be suitable for me? i also wanted to know what is the weather usually like during this time of year? do i need special equipment? and do i need carry all my luggage between accommodaions?

    Accommodation
    Tour Details
    • Exodus Adventure TravelsOperatorWritten May 2026

This trip can be a fantastic fit for a solo traveller like you, especially if you enjoy being active and spending long days outdoors. Across the week, there are five walking days, typically around 9 miles / 14km, with 6–7 hours of walking per day. Some days can involve up to 900m (2,950ft) of ascent and descent, which usually means a few hours of steady uphill followed by the same downhill. If you're already comfortable with longer hikes and some elevation, you'll likely enjoy it—but if you're newer to hill walking, a bit of preparation beforehand will really help you get the most out of the trip.

The great news is that the tour is centre-based, so you'll stay in the same accommodation throughout and only carry a daypack during the hikes (water, snacks, layers, etc.)—no need to move your main luggage around.
In terms of weather in late May, it's a lovely time to be in the Alps. You can generally expect:

      Mild daytime temperatures (around 10–18°C / 50–65°F)
      Cooler mornings and evenings
A mix of sunshine and occasional rain
Some lingering snow possible on higher trails

For gear, you won't need anything too technical, but I'd recommend:

      Good, broken-in hiking boots
      Waterproof jacket and layers
      A daypack
Walking poles if you usually use them (they can really help on the descents)

    • S

      Sandy

      TravelerWritten May 2026

I wanted to ask if the hikes are very difficult for someone doing this kind of trip for the first time, especially considering the elevation and the trails? I'm fairly fit — I do strength training with weights and I also swim regularly.

I also wanted to ask if there's an option for a private room, or if the accommodation is in shared dorm-style rooms? And are the beds single beds?

    • S

      Sandy

      TravelerWritten May 2026

what is age range in this trip more or less?

    • Exodus Adventure TravelsOperatorWritten May 2026

I'd say the tour is moderate but very rewarding, it's designed for people who are fit, but also comfortable with longer days in the hills and steady inclines. Your background with strength training and swimming is a great foundation! The key factor here is how you feel with sustained uphill and downhill hiking. Some days involve 4–7 hours of walking, with up to 900–1,100m (around 3,000–3,600 ft) of elevation gain, often on rocky or uneven trails. It's not a race by any means, and there are plenty of breaks along the way, but you'll want to feel comfortable being on your feet for extended periods in mountainous terrain.

      On the accommodation side:

This is not dorm-style, you'll be staying in small chalet-style hotels
Rooms are typically twin share, with two single beds
We do have a very limited number of single rooms, but for this departure they are unfortunately already sold out (they're usually the first to go)

Just to give you a bit of context on the group as well, the current age range is generally mid-40s to mid-60s, though we do always get a mix of travellers and solo guests.

For this itinerary, you will be staying at either Chalet Bediere or Chalet 1802 for the duration of the tour, therefore you'll only have to carry a daypack each day, and you can leave the rest of your belongings for the trip at the Chalet.

Unfortunately, there isn't an alternative route that avoids the bridge. I completed this trip myself in June and had an incredible experience. I completely understand the uncertainty around the bridge; however, I can reassure you that it feels very secure when crossing. There were members of my group who had fears of heights and shared similar concerns beforehand, but they ended up having no trouble once we were there. Additionally, there is always the option to sit out the hike that day and enjoy another activity in Chamonix instead.

We are interested in the trip starting August 8th (through the 15th). Can you tell me how many people have committed to that week so far? Our preference would be to stay in Chalet 1802, and we may want to reconsider the week if the chances of staying in the Chalet are low for that week?

    • Exodus Adventure TravelsOperatorWritten January 2026

There are currently two other travelers confirmed on this departure. This means your chances of getting your preferred chalet are better, we allocate based on first bookings preferences - although we cannot confirm this until closer to departure. Once you book I would then enter your preferred chalet and this will be taken into consideration. The July departures do all have more travelers confirmed then the 08AUG dept.

Would we have options closer to the trip to change our mind?

    • Exodus Adventure TravelsOperatorWritten January 2026

Chalet 1802 is closer to Les Houches town and Chalet Bediere is in Chamonix town. Both have walkable amenities nearby. Each Chalet is beautiful and unique and you certainly would end up being pleased with either. You can change your preference later but as we get close to departure and rooming is allocated this may no longer be possible.
