A driver picks you up from your hotel for the drive to Santa Marta, about 4 to 5 hours along the coast. You'll pass through tropical landscapes with Caribbean Sea views the whole way. By the time you arrive, the afternoon is open so you can walk along the waterfront, watch the sunset, or just relax.

Landmarks Santa Marta Waterfront Sierra Nevada Mountains - Day 5
Santa Marta - Tayrona National Park
You'll hike through Tayrona National Park for the full day with your guide. The trail takes you from Cañaveral through tropical forest and past several beaches (Arrecifes, Arenillas, La Piscina) before reaching Cabo San Juan. Swim in the turquoise water and relax on the sand where jungle meets ocean. You'll return to Santa Marta by afternoon. An optional extra night in the park includes lodging, dinner, and breakfast.
