Itinerary
- Day 1
Johannesburg
Your AmaWaterways host meets you at the airport and drives you to the Fairlawns Boutique Hotel in Johannesburg's Sandton neighborhood. It's a good chance to settle in and rest up before your adventure heads south.
- Day 2
Johannesburg to Kasane - Chobe River
You'll transfer to the airport for your flight to Kasane, then tender boats bring you out to the Zambezi Queen river cruise ship. After checking into your cabin and grabbing a mid-afternoon snack, there's a Welcome Cocktail Reception and Dinner to get to know your fellow travelers.

Landmarks Chobe River - Day 3
Chobe River
Early morning takes you on a boat safari down the Chobe River where you'll look for wildlife along the banks. Back on the ship for lunch, then you can lounge by the splash pool, try the spa, or just relax. An afternoon boat safari follows so you get another chance at spotting animals as the light changes.

- Day 4
Chobe River
The morning starts with a boat safari, then you'll head to a local African village to meet residents and see how they go about their day. Lunch is back on board, and the afternoon opens up with choices between another boat safari, bird watching, or fishing. An African-themed dinner with live music and dancing from the crew wraps up the evening.

- Day 5
Chobe National Park to Victoria Falls
You leave the ship and board open-top 4x4 vehicles for a wildlife safari through Chobe National Park where elephants, giraffes, zebras, and big cats roam. A picnic lunch happens under the trees, then you transfer to Victoria Falls for an evening dinner with live local entertainment.

Victoria Falls
A local guide takes you through Victoria Falls National Park, talking through the area's history and pointing out the unique plants and animals. Later, there's a private sunset cruise along the Zambezi River where you can sip tapas and drinks while watching for wildlife on the banks.

Victoria Falls - Livingstone - Zambia
With a local guide, you walk across the Victoria Falls Bridge connecting Zimbabwe and Zambia, then explore the Zambian side of the Falls and the historic town of Livingstone. The afternoon is free time back in Zimbabwe before an evening rhino spotting safari and three-course bush dinner.

Victoria Falls to Nairobi
You have a leisurely morning, then cross into Zambia and fly from Livingstone to Nairobi. An AmaWaterways representative meets you and transfers you to the Serena Nairobi Hotel where you can get settled and oriented.

Nairobi
Mid-morning, you're at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust watching orphan elephants in their rehabilitation program. After lunch in the garden, the Giraffe Centre lets you see endangered Rothschild giraffes up close, then you tour the Karen Blixen Museum on a former coffee plantation. The evening is yours to do as you like around the city.

A short flight gets you to Amboseli, famous for its large elephant herds and how Mount Kilimanjaro dominates the skyline. You check into Tortilis Camp, a luxury tent setup that'll be your home for two nights. An afternoon game drive gets you out looking for animals right away.

Landmarks Amboseli National Park Mount Kilimanjaro - Day 11
Amboseli
You're out on game drives in the morning and afternoon, scanning for giraffes, lions, wildebeest, cheetahs, gazelles, zebras, and hyenas. Between drives, there's a bush breakfast and sundowners so you get to enjoy the landscape and light at different times of day.

Landmarks Amboseli National Park - Day 12
Amboseli to Maasai Mara
A morning flight takes you to the Maasai Mara with a stop in Nairobi, then you transfer to Elephant Pepper Camp sitting right in the heart of the Maasai Mara ecosystem. The afternoon has you heading out on a game drive to hunt for the Big Five.

Maasai Mara
Game drives fill your day as you work to spot the Big Five and other wildlife roaming the reserve. The camp's remote setting means incredible night skies and the actual sounds of the wild around you. Landmarks Maasai Mara National Reserve - Day 15
Maasai Mara to Nairobi
After breakfast, you transfer to the airstrip and fly back to Nairobi. The Eka Hotel has a day room available until 11pm so you can freshen up, and then a transfer takes you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight.
