  1. Day 1

    Johannesburg

    Your AmaWaterways host meets you at the airport and drives you to the Fairlawns Boutique Hotel in Johannesburg's Sandton neighborhood. It's a good chance to settle in and rest up before your adventure heads south.

  2. Day 2

    Johannesburg to Kasane - Chobe River

    You'll transfer to the airport for your flight to Kasane, then tender boats bring you out to the Zambezi Queen river cruise ship. After checking into your cabin and grabbing a mid-afternoon snack, there's a Welcome Cocktail Reception and Dinner to get to know your fellow travelers.

    Nairobi

    Mid-morning, you're at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust watching orphan elephants in their rehabilitation program. After lunch in the garden, the Giraffe Centre lets you see endangered Rothschild giraffes up close, then you tour the Karen Blixen Museum on a former coffee plantation. The evening is yours to do as you like around the city.
