Itinerary
- Day 1
Lisbon
You'll get picked up from Lisbon airport and head to your hotel in the city centre. If you land early, there's time to walk around and check out the outdoor cafes before things officially kick off. At 6 pm, you'll meet up with your group for an orientation, then head to a local restaurant for dinner where your leader introduces you to traditional Portuguese food.

- Day 2
Lisbon
Start with a walking tour through Lisbon's neighbourhoods guided by a local who knows the city well. You'll ride the famous yellow Gloria cable car, walk through Bairro Alto and Chiado, then wander the narrow cobbled lanes of Alfama. Along the way, try a pastel de nata pastry and sample some ginjinha cherry liqueur. After visiting Praça do Município and Praça do Comércio, the rest of the afternoon is yours to explore on your own.

- Day 3
Lisbon to Sintra
Today you're heading to Sintra, a mountain town that served as a royal summer retreat and inspired writers like Lord Byron. Your leader will fill you in on the history as you explore Quinta da Regaleira estate in the morning. Grab lunch (try local dishes if you can) and then check out Sintra's National Palace, which dates back over 1000 years and ranks among Portugal's oldest. The afternoon gives you flexibility to wander at your own pace.

- Day 4
Sintra to Coimbra
You're heading to Coimbra, which was Portugal's medieval capital and sits along the River Mondego. In the morning, your leader takes you through the Old Quarter's winding lanes and squares. The main event is a private tour of the Joanine Library, a Baroque space and one of the most beautiful libraries around. That evening, you'll catch a traditional Fado music show to learn about Portuguese culture, and your leader can point you toward good restaurants nearby for dinner.

- Day 5
Coimbra to Douro Valley
You're travelling from Coimbra into the Douro Valley, known for its vineyards and wine production. Join a tasting tour at a local winery to learn about Port wine and regional varieties. Lunch is a light picnic with rustic regional food paired with wine. After that, you head to your accommodation situated in the hills with views out over the Douro River and terraced vineyards. Spend the rest of the day relaxing by the pools or enjoying dinner on the terrace.

Landmarks Douro Valley - Day 6
Douro Valley to Porto
This morning you'll take a gentle boat ride on the Douro River, stopping at the small riverside village of Pinhao. Then you continue to Porto, a city built along the river's banks. Your leader gives you an orientation walk through the twisting alleys, old staircases and Baroque churches, crossing over historic bridges and through cobbled streets. Afternoon and evening are free to explore on your own. In the evening, head to Vila Nova de Gaia nearby to catch the sunset with drinks.

Porto
This morning you're doing a hand-painted tile workshop to learn about Portugal's centuries-old tile tradition and how these tiles reflect the country's history through colour and design. After that, your afternoon is open. You could grab coffee and pastries at a riverfront cafe with a view of the colourful old houses, walk through the Ribeira district (a World Heritage area), or take the local train to Matosinhos for a beach visit. Everyone regroups for a final group dinner at a Porto restaurant this evening.
