Sofia to Rila
You'll arrive at Sofia airport and get transferred to Malyovitsa Hotel in Rila. After settling in, you have time to relax and shake off the travel. Dinner is included this evening, so you can just unwind and prepare for the trekking ahead.

Landmarks Sofia Airport - Day 2
Rila Mountains Trek
Starting from Malyovitsa Hut, you'll head up through glacier terraces to reach Elenino Lake. From there, it's on to Mt Malyovitsa where you get panoramic views across the region. The route continues along ridges past Urdinite lakes and Mt Ezerniya, which gives you views toward the Seven Lakes. By evening you'll descend to Ivan Vazov Hut. Plan on 8-9 hours of trekking, so this is a physically demanding day with significant elevation gain.

Ivan Vazov Hut to Rila Monastery to Pirin
You'll descend from Ivan Vazov Hut through the Rila River valley, then visit the historic Rila Monastery. This spiritual center has been here since the 10th century and it's worth time exploring. After that, you'll get a vehicle transfer to Yavorov Hut in Pirin for the night, giving your legs a break from hiking.

- Day 4
Koncheto and Vihren
This is the longest and toughest trekking day of the whole trip. You'll ascend to Pirin's marble ridge and cross the Koncheto karst ridge, which is exposed and requires focus. Then you'll climb up to Vihren, Pirin's highest peak at 2,914m/9,560ft. The mountain views throughout are really something special, but plan for a long, demanding day.

- Day 5
Pirin Mountains Trek to Tevno Ezero
You'll trek through Banderishki cirque, passing alpine lakes along the way. After that, the route follows a ridge with beautiful views of alternating cirques and those dark-blue alpine lakes. By evening you'll reach Tevno Ezero refuge, which sits at high altitude, so you're sleeping pretty high up in the mountains.

- Day 6
Pirin Mountains Trek to Bezbog Hut
After a short climb in the morning, you'll descend past Samodivskite lakes to reach Popovoto, the largest lake in Pirin with a small islet. From there, you have a smooth ascent followed by a brief descent to Bezbog Hut, which sits near another lake. It's an easier day compared to the previous ones.

Pirin Mountains Trek to Sofia
You'll climb mounts Bezbog and Polezhan with nice summit views. After that, you descend past Strazhishko Lake to Damyanitsa Hut, then continue down to the road. Your bus will pick you up there for the transfer back to Sofia, wrapping up your mountain trek.
