Itinerary
- Day 1
Taipei to Sun Moon Lake
Starting early at 7:30am from central Taipei, you'll head to Sun Moon Lake, Taiwan's largest freshwater lake. The route takes you through scenic areas where you'll walk around Ita Thao village, a settlement with indigenous roots and local character. After that, you'll check out Ci'en Pagoda, built during President Chiang Kai-shek's time, then move on to visit Xuanzang Temple and Wenwu Temple, both important religious sites on the lake. There's free time around midday for lunch at a place of your choice, and afterward you'll be driven to your hotel for the evening.

- Day 2
Sun Moon Lake/Taichung to Tainan to Kaohsiung
After breakfast, the bus takes you to Tainan, Taiwan's oldest city with centuries of history layered throughout. You'll walk through Fort Zeelandia first, a Dutch settlement from the colonial period, then head to Anping Old Street where local shops and food stalls line the way. Try tofu pudding and shrimp rolls while wandering through the area and getting a feel for traditional Taiwanese culture. Later in the day, you'll travel to Kaohsiung and visit Fo Guang Shan Monastery to see its 36-meter golden Buddha, one of Southeast Asia's tallest statues. The day ends at a centrally located hotel in Kaohsiung.

- Day 3
Kaohsiung to Kenting National Park to Zhiben
Moving south, you'll spend the day exploring Kenting National Park, Taiwan's first and most iconic protected area. At Maopitou (Cat's Nose) and Chuanfan Rock (Sail Rock), unusual rock formations rise from the landscape in striking ways. You'll also see Eluanpi Lighthouse, a historic structure dating back to the Qing Dynasty. Longpan Park offers wide views across the ocean and coastline, and then you'll drive along the scenic South Link Highway with varied landscapes on either side. By evening, you'll reach Zhiben in Taitung and settle into a hot spring resort known for its carbonate-rich waters, perfect for soaking after a day of travel.

Zhiben to East Coast National Scenic Area to Hualien to Yilan
The route heads east to Taiwan's coast, sometimes called the island's last relatively unspoiled area. You'll visit Xiaoyeliu at Fugang Geopark, where strange and layered rock formations create an otherworldly landscape. From there, it's on to Sanxiantai, where distinctive offshore islands are connected by bridges, giving you the chance to walk out and see the ocean from different angles. Shitiping comes next, showing sea erosion terraces built up over millions of years of geological activity. Later, you'll take a scenic one-way train ride from Hualien to Yilan along the coast, then head to a hot spring hotel in Jiaoxi for the night.

- Day 5
Yilan to Taipei
This final morning starts with breakfast, and then you head to King Car Kavalan Whisky Distillery to learn how the facility produces award-winning whisky using pure mountain spring water from the area. Next stop is the National Center for Traditional Arts, a cultural park where Taiwanese architecture has been preserved and restored. You can catch live performances, join hands-on workshops, and check out exhibits focused on puppet theatre and traditional crafts that reflect Taiwan's heritage. After spending time there, the bus departs for Taipei, arriving at Howard Hotel around 5pm to wrap up the tour.
