Moshi
Your Kilimanjaro adventure starts in Moshi where you'll link up with your guide and get everything sorted for the trek. This is when you'll go over your gear, discuss the route, and make sure you're ready for what's ahead. It's a good time to pick up any last-minute supplies and acclimate a bit before heading out.

Landmarks Mount Kilimanjaro - Day 2
Moshi to Umbwe Camp
From Moshi, you'll trek to Umbwe Camp on your first day of the Umbwe Route. The path climbs steeply through lush rainforest with dense vegetation all around. By the end of the day, you'll be at camp dealing with the elevation and getting used to the rhythm of trekking at altitude.

Umbwe Camp to Barranco Camp
After breakfast, you'll head from Umbwe Camp toward Barranco Camp, continuing higher up the mountain. The terrain shifts as the forest thins out and you move through different vegetation zones. The climb gets steeper here, and you'll notice the air getting thinner as you go.

Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Today's trek takes you from Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp through varied terrain and different ecosystems. You'll pass through heathland and moorland as you keep ascending. The landscape changes dramatically the higher you go, and the air continues to thin out.
Landmarks Mount Kilimanjaro - Day 5
Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
From Karanga Camp, you'll trek to Barafu Camp, which sits at a higher elevation. This is the final camp before your summit push, so the trek focuses on getting you positioned for the big day ahead. Rest becomes important now as you prepare for an early start tomorrow.

- Day 6
Barafu Camp
Summit day arrives early. You'll leave Barafu Camp in the predawn darkness for your final push to Uhuru Peak, the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro at 19,341 feet/5,895 meters. The climb takes several hours of steep, rocky terrain in cold conditions. Reaching the summit brings incredible views and a real sense of accomplishment before you start the long descent.
