Kilimanjaro
You'll arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and get picked up for the drive to your accommodation. This is your chance to settle in, have a meal, and rest up before the trek starts tomorrow. It's a good day to hydrate well and do any last-minute preparations.

Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
Your trek begins at Marangu Gate, and you'll spend the day walking through lush rainforest on your way to Mandara Hut at 2,700m/8,858 ft. The climb is gradual, which helps your body start getting used to the altitude. Forest trails keep you shaded for most of the day.

Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
From Mandara Hut, you'll head through the rainforest transition zone toward Horombo Hut at 3,700m/12,139 ft. As you climb higher, the forest thins out and you start entering moorland terrain. Views open up as the vegetation changes, and you'll notice the air getting thinner.

Acclimatization Trek
Today is an acclimatization day, which means you're not moving to a new camp. Instead, you'll hike up to Zebra Rocks at 4,020m/13,189 ft to help your body adjust to the altitude, then head back down to Horombo Hut. This day makes a real difference for how you feel at higher elevations.

Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
You'll leave Horombo Hut and trek through high alpine desert landscape as you make your way to Kibo Hut at 4,703m/15,430 ft. The surroundings become more barren the higher you go, and you'll get views of the peaks around you. It's a big elevation jump, so the pace stays steady but measured.

Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak and Back to Horombo Hut
This is summit day. You'll start before dawn from Kibo Hut and begin the push to Uhuru Peak at 5,895m/19,341 ft, the highest point in Africa. After reaching the summit and taking in the achievement, you'll descend most of the way back down to Horombo Hut at 3,700m/12,139 ft. It's one of the longest days on the trek, both physically and mentally.

- Day 7
Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate
You're heading back down from Horombo Hut through the rainforest toward Marangu Gate. The vegetation gets greener and denser as you drop in elevation. Your legs will feel it after days at altitude, but the downhill pace is manageable and the scenery improves as you descend.

Departure
Your trek is finished. You'll get transported from Marangu Gate back to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home. You're heading out with the accomplishment of summiting Africa's highest peak and memories of the entire journey.
