You'll arrive in Zurich and then head to Basel, settling into your riverside location on the Rhine River. After getting to your 5-star ship and meeting other passengers, there's a welcome reception this evening to kick things off.

Breisach
Breisach sits between the Rhine and the Black Forest with medieval streets and pastel buildings that were carefully restored after World War II. You can choose from wine tasting at Kaiserstuhl, a trip to Colmar with its canals and half-timbered houses, or heading to Freiburg near the Black Forest.

Breisach to Mannheim
In Strasbourg, the Alsace wine capital, you'll see half-timbered houses along the canals. Your options are a walking tour covering the Cathedral and Petit France, a coach tour through wine villages like Obernai with tasting, or an e-bike ride through 500 km of bicycle trails. You depart for Mannheim in the afternoon.

Mannheim's 18th-century grid pattern and Baroque squares come into view this morning. You can take an orientation tour of Heidelberg with free time, explore Heidelberg Castle and the famous Heidelberg Tun, or visit the Fritz Ritter vineyard near Bad Durkheim for a tour and tasting.

Mannheim to Rüdesheim
Rüdesheim has been producing wine for over 2,000 years and shows it with half-timbered houses and wine taverns throughout the town. Check out Siegfried's Musikkabinett Museum followed by a cable car to the Niederwald Monument, or hike through the vineyards with cable car descent. Later, you'll cruise through the Rhine Gorge seeing roughly 40 hilltop castles.

Koblenz sits at the meeting point of the Rhine and Moselle rivers and blends French and German cultures. Tour the old town's winding streets and churches, visit Marksburg Castle from 1117, or go to medieval Limburg an der Lahn. The ship stays overnight so you can explore after dark.
