A very enjoyable tour. Our guide for Kyoto and Osaka, Kevin, was very personable and informative. He even gave us suggestions of what to do in Kyoto before we met up with the group since we came in a day early, that was very helpful. All the accommodations were comfortable and central to the highlights of the tour. We especially liked the Kyoto Tokyu Hotel and their free shuttle to the train station was convenient. For first time travelers to Japan, we would recommend this tour for its value, itinerary, and hotels. We will keep UME Travel in mind for future Asian trips.Show more

There are places to have fun and there are places that restore, and Kinosaki Onsen is a place to the last degree. The 12 Days Kinosaki Onsen Escape was not so much a holiday as a prescription for all that modernity takes away. There was no sense of hastiness or chaos in the transportation, and each stop maintained the relaxed pace of the journey from the outset. The accommodations were outstanding, and the willow draped streets of the traditional Japanese ryokan hotels were very hospitable, and attentive in a way that embodies what real comfort means. Dinner came in the form of an elegant two-part affair known as kaiseki, a meal in which a thoughtfully chosen collection of seasonal foods and centuries-old culinary traditions engaged in a conversation. Our guide had an intimate knowledge of the history and bathing culture of Kinosaki, which made our sightseeing experience much more interesting and memorable. It was only a matter of 12 days. They slowly and steadily piled up and when they arrived home, they were stillnesses that could only be enjoyed after weeks had passed.Show more
