Itinerary
- Day 1
Vienna to Budva
Your flight gets you from Vienna to either Podgorica or Tivat, and then you'll drive to the hotel on the Adriatic coast in Budva. The location sits right by the water with views of the rocky island of Nikola and the old town, so you'll have that coastal feel from the moment you arrive. You're settling in here for seven nights, which gives you a good base for exploring the region.

Budva
A guided tour takes you through Budva's old town on the peninsula, where Venetian-built city walls still surround the area. The city museum shows off tools, coins, jugs, and weapons from the ancient Illyrian period, so you get a sense of how long this place has been inhabited. The afternoon is open, so you can wander around on your own or grab lunch somewhere with a view.

Cetinje - Kotor
This is a full day of driving and exploring. You'll head to Cetinje, which Prince Nikola developed back in the 1800s as Montenegro's former capital, and tour the old royal palace. From there, you stop in Njegusi village to taste local ham, cheese, and wine before continuing through mountain roads to Kotor. This UNESCO site has the old Austro-Hungarian naval port, a Romanesque cathedral, the naval museum, and historic palaces with walls you can walk along.

- Day 4
Budva
Your schedule is completely open today. If you want, there's an optional all-day trip to Lake Scutari, one of Europe's largest bird reserves where you'll see pelicans, cormorants, ibises, and storks. The trip includes the Ostrog Monastery built right into the rock face and a boat tour around the lake before heading back late afternoon.

Dubrovnik
You're heading to Dubrovnik for the day, the place they call the Pearl of the Adriatic. The UNESCO old town has centuries of history as an independent city republic, and you can tour the historic center. Walking the city walls is optional, but it gives you nice views across the town and down to the coast. You'll be back at your hotel by evening.

- Day 6
Budva
Another free day to do what you want. You could relax at the hotel or explore Budva more. There's also an optional day trip to Albania if you're interested, which includes Rozafa Castle sitting where three rivers meet (it has pre-Roman Illyrian roots) and the medieval center of Skutari with its fortress.

Durmitor National Park
You'll travel through the Moraca River canyon to the Serbian Orthodox Moraca Monastery, a well-preserved medieval site from 1252. After that, the route takes you over mountains to the Tara Canyon, which is the world's second deepest after the Colorado. Durmitor National Park is your destination, with its gorges, high peaks, lakes, and dark forests. There's a unique bridge high above the Tara River where you can take photos and do a short walk before driving back to the hotel.

Budva to Vienna
Breakfast happens at the hotel, then you have free time before the airport transfer. Your guide will let you know the exact departure time once you're there. After that, it's your return flight to Vienna.
