Itinerary
- Day 1
Lisbon
You'll arrive in Lisbon and head to your hotel for a 3-night stay. The day is yours to settle in and get a feel for the city, which spreads across rolling hills overlooking the River Tagus. Take time to wander around and let the geography of the place become familiar.

Lisbon
A guided tour takes you through Lisbon's city centre on the famous yellow trams, rolling past tree-lined streets. You'll visit the Jerónimos Monastery in the Belém district, a UNESCO World Heritage site with late Gothic Manueline architecture that shows off Portugal's maritime past.

Lisbon
Today you're free to explore Lisbon on your own terms. Walk through the cobbled alleyways, see ancient ruins, and learn about the city's history and the distinctive Pombaline architecture that came after the Great Lisbon Earthquake. Your tour director is around if you need tips or want suggestions for where to go.

- Day 4
Lisbon to Porto
You'll travel north along the Atlantic coast and stop in two Portuguese towns. First comes the medieval town of Óbidos with white-washed houses and narrow alleys, then Nazaré, known for its enormous waves and traditional fishing culture. Later you'll arrive in Porto and board the Emerald Cruises Star-Ship for dinner.

Porto to Pinhão
As you sail through the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Douro Valley, you'll see two millennia of wine-producing history unfold around you. Small villages and sun-drenched vineyards line the landscape. Tonight there's a welcome dinner and cocktail reception on board.

Pinhão to Vega de Terrón
You'll start with a visit to Quinta do Tedo, an 18th-century vineyard at the meeting point of the Douro and Tedo rivers, where they produce organic wines using traditional methods. You can choose a guided vineyard walk or try a kayak excursion. Afterward, relax on the Sun Deck as the ship sails to Vega de Terrón.

Vega de Terrón to Salamanca
Travel to Salamanca, known as the 'Golden City', for a walking tour of its UNESCO World Heritage Old Quarter. You'll see the beautiful Plaza Mayor with its galleries and arcades, visit Casa de las Conchas with its 300+ shell decorations, and check out the university dating back to 1218, one of Europe's oldest institutions.

Pocinho to Régua
You'll dock in Pocinho and travel to the medieval town of Castelo Rodrigo to explore its fortress history and sample local products. After returning to the Star-Ship for lunch, you'll have a Port wine cocktail lesson on board as the ship sails toward Régua.

Régua
The day includes a visit to the baroque village of Lamego and its Shrine of Our Lady of Remedies, sitting high above the town. If you're up for it, there are 686 steps leading down from the Sanctuary to the main square. Later you'll have a rural lunch at Quinta da Pacheca, one of the Douro's finest estates, and learn about Portuguese mosaic painting traditions.

You'll explore Porto at the mouth of the Douro River, where modern and ancient architecture mix together, and it's known worldwide for Port wine exports. Your guided tour covers the fortified structures of Castelo da Foz and Castelo do Queijo. There's an option for an active walk through the city to experience how locals actually live there.

Your cruise ends in Porto. You'll transfer to the airport and fly to Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia in Spain. Once you arrive, head to your hotel for a 3-night stay. The rest of the day is yours to explore Barcelona's lively feel, historic streets, bustling markets, or relax by the beautiful coastline.

Barcelona
A guided tour covers Barcelona's Modernist architecture and the work of Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. You'll visit Park Güell with its creative designs, see La Sagrada Família (the largest unfinished Catholic church) and Casa Milà from outside, then stroll down lively Las Ramblas Avenue, stopping to sample local tapas.
