Itinerary
- Day 1
Auckland to Mount Maunganui
Head out from Auckland at 9:00 AM toward Tauranga with a stop at Karangahake Gorge where you'll do a short hike through the area. After that, you've got free time to grab lunch in Waihi before continuing along the coast to Mount Maunganui. There's a group dinner in the evening, though you'll need to cover that cost yourself.

Mount Maunganui to Rotorua
This morning includes a guided tour of the Hobbiton movie set from Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit films. Lunch at Shire's Rest Cafe is part of your package. From there, travel to Rotorua where you can either relax at your accommodation or pick from optional activities like hiking Mount Tarawera, getting a treatment at Polynesian Spa, or taking an e-bike tour.

Rotorua
You've got the whole day to yourself in and around Rotorua. Options include white water rafting on the Kaituna River if you want something intense, zorbing for a different kind of thrill, or walking through the Redwoods Treewalk if you prefer something slower paced. What you choose depends on what appeals to you.

Rotorua to Taupo
After breakfast, head to Huka Falls to see the water's powerful flow for yourself. Then move on to Wai-O-Tapu to check out its geothermal features (entrance included). By evening you'll reach Taupo, where there's an optional sunset cruise available if you're interested in getting out on the water.

Taupo
Taupo is yours to explore however you'd like. If adventure's what you're after, you can do the Tongariro Crossing or take a jet boat ride. Prefer something more laid back? Options include fishing, taking a scenic flight, or soaking in natural hot springs.

Taupo to Cambridge
Leave Taupo and head to Waitomo for an included guided tour of the underground caves where you'll see limestone formations and glowworms. After that, visit Hamilton Gardens for a guided tour of its themed gardens. Later, you'll arrive in Cambridge with free time to wander through shops and grab a coffee or bite at a local cafe.

- Day 7
Cambridge to Auckland
Your final day on the North Island starts in the coastal town of Raglan where you'll have free time to check out local shops and cafes. Next, you'll see Bridal Veil Falls, which drops about 55 metres. Then it's back to Auckland, and your guide can drop you at Auckland CBD or the airport depending on where you need to go.
