We booked a 5 day tour which turned into a 4 day tour. However, we were located in a very nice hotel at Nafplion. One piece was luggage was so damaged when it came off the bus we were forced to replace it. The tour itself was ok but the buffet food was of an average standard. Too many stops at tourist gift shops. We would have liked more commentary about the areas we were travelling through and not just the archeological sites.Show more

This is a really good tour! The tour guide - George - was excellent and could not be faulted. The organisation was excellent and everything ran really smoothly. My only comment was that the name of this tour should be Classical Greece Plus A Day in Nauplion, as this corresponds to the reality. I assumed - and I was not alone - that I would see more on the five day tour than on the four day tour. In fact this was not the case. I did the four day tour and had a day to spend / kill in Nauplion. While I accept that Nauplion is not a bad place to spend a day (!) - and also that I could/should have checked my facts before booking the holiday - the fact remains , I think, that this tour name should be changed to more accurately reflect the reality - and avoid other slightly - or more - disappointed customers in the futureShow more

Itinerary was not followed, we made a bunch of random stops for over an hour at tourist traps. I look for tours that don’t involve alcohol on purpose and we ended up sending an hour at a wine tasting where we didn’t learn anything about the wine, just had it pushed on us. We spent more time at these places than any of the archaeological sites. Tour guide knew a lot about nothing. Knowledgable about Greek culture but not about what we were seeing. When asking to be able to view the sites on our own instead of listening to him drone on we were told no because we didn’t have a time to be back at the bus. Be prepared for expensive sad buffet food for lunch with no other options. Tour company was no help. We were directed to the wrong hotel on the first night and we had to wander for the correct one. Tour company doesn’t respond to messages and when they rarely do it’s with the wrong information.Show more

Hotels were good, food was good. The bus driver was very skilled and the tour guide was excellent. Some of the hotels had amazing views from the balcony which was not expected. The hotel in Nafplio was especially nice with a spectacular view of the sea. The only negative was the undisclosed stops at various locations - such as the clay pot making "factory" and the icon "factory" which were basically tourist traps designed to sell stuff. After the tour guide did a little overview, we only had 20 free minutes to explore Mycenae which was one of the places I really wanted to see on this tour. We subsequently spent 50 minutes at the clay pot "factory". The one undisclosed stop that was not too bad was the one with the wine tasting and only because it had wine tasting.Show more
