Start your time in Bucharest by heading out at your own pace. The day is open for wandering through shops and cafés along Victory Avenue, checking out museums, or stopping by churches and historic homes. You'll get a feel for the city's blend of old and new as you walk around the neighborhoods.

- Day 2
Bucharest to Brasov
Head into the Carpathian Mountains this morning toward Sinaia. You'll stop at Cantacuzino Castle along the way before reaching Peles Castle. Grab lunch at a local spot, then continue driving to Brasov where you'll spend the night.

Brasov
Join a guided tour of Brasov in the morning to see the main sights. The afternoon is free for exploring on your own around the old town. Later in the evening, you'll head out to tour Bran Castle and learn about its connection to Dracula legends, then have dinner.

Brasov to Oltenita
Take a guided tour through Bucharest focusing on Royal Palace Square, where major events during the 1989 revolution took place. After that, head back to Oltenita and board your Avalon Suite Ship. You'll sail overnight toward Rousse, Bulgaria.

Rousse
In Rousse you have options: join a bike tour, take a guided sightseeing trip to Holy Trinity Church, or drive to the rock-hewn churches at Ivanovo (a UNESCO site). If you're up for a full day, head to Veliko Tarnovo to see houses built on cliffs and Bulgarian revival architecture. Later you'll sail to Svistov or rejoin the ship.

Donji Milanovac
Sail through the Iron Gates Gorge, the narrow waterway between Serbia and Romania. Bratislava
You've got two main options to start your day in Bratislava. Either hike up to Bratislava Castle for views across the city, or take a guided walk through Old Town where you'll see the Town Hall and St. Martin's Cathedral, the site of royal coronations throughout history. After that, the afternoon is yours to explore. The capital has plenty of green spaces and forests nearby, so you can wander around at your own pace. By evening, head back to the ship for live entertainment before you cruise overnight to Vienna.

Vienna
Vienna gives you several guided options to choose from. You can bike along Danube Island, visit the House of Strauss for coffee and cake, or tour the city's gilded landmarks like the Imperial Palace, Opera House, and St. Stephen's Cathedral. There's also an optional visit to Schönbrunn Palace if you want to add that in. Between activities or on your own time, check out the shops on Kärntnerstrasse or sit down at a local café for Sachertorte or Apfelstrudel. If you're interested, there's an optional Royal Waltz Concert this evening. After that, you'll cruise overnight to Dürnstein.

You might catch a concert rehearsal at St. Stephen's Cathedral before sailing to Vilshofen.
