Amsterdam
You'll arrive in Amsterdam by 3:30 pm and head straight to the ship for a 5 pm boarding. That gives you a few hours to walk around this 700-year-old city before dinner. The streets are lined with elegant buildings, and there are plenty of cafés and restaurants to grab something if you're hungry. The marketplace has a nice energy too, so it's worth taking a stroll through if you have time.

Amsterdam
Your Adventure Host has two guided options for you this morning, a walking tour through cobblestone streets away from the main crowds or a canal cruise past the stately homes from Amsterdam's Golden Age. After lunch, you'll have time for optional excursions or just explore the colorful streets independently. This evening, a Certified Sommelier will give an onboard lecture.

Cologne
The day starts with a wine and cheese tasting by your Certified Sommelier. Then you can choose between biking like locals do, a guided walking tour of Cologne's Jewish heritage sites, or a city walk that takes in the gothic cathedral with its distinctive twin spires. Later, grab a glass of locally brewed Kölsch pale lager and enjoy live entertainment from local musicians on board this evening.

Rhine Gorge - Rüdesheim to Speyer
The ship sails through the Rhine Gorge today, a UNESCO site with old castles sitting on the cliffs and the famous Rock of the Lorelei. You can pick what sounds good: hike through Rüdesheim's vineyards, tour the historic Eberbach Monastery and do a wine tasting, or check out the Mechanical Music Museum if you're interested in that sort of thing. Later, there's live entertainment on the ship.

Speyer - Heidelberg to Kehl
Today you have options depending on what appeals to you. Heidelberg has walking routes tied to its philosophy history, or you could spend time in Speyer's old streets and do a wine tasting. Heidelberg Castle is also worth seeing for the Renaissance ruins and the Great Vat, which is basically the world's largest wine barrel. After that, the ship heads to Kehl for the evening.

Strasbourg
Ask your Adventure Host what appeals to you, whether something energizing or more relaxed. You can bike through Strasbourg, take a city sightseeing tour featuring the Gothic cathedral with its ancient murals and astronomical clock plus La Petite France District, or follow the Alsace Wine Route to explore France's wine country and sample local wines. By evening, you'll have a food and wine pairing dinner by your Certified Sommelier on board.

Breisach - Black Forest to Basel
Several choices for how to spend your day. Take a full tour to Colmar, a medieval village with vineyards, or head into the Black Forest for an open-air museum and a demonstration of traditional butter-making. If you'd rather keep it shorter, there's a morning tour through Colmar's canals, sometimes called 'Little Venice.' Freiburg's medieval center is also an option if that interests you. The ship moves to Basel after you're back.

Basel to Lucerne
After leaving the ship in Basel, you'll take a motorcoach up to Mount Pilatus. At nearly 7,000 feet, the views over central Switzerland are really something. If the weather isn't cooperating, the Swiss Transport Museum is the backup option. Later, there's a walking tour through Lucerne, and you'll get to see the Chapel Bridge, which is one of the main things people come to see there.
