I didn't book a predetermined tour, but requested specific destinations. These were then combined to create a 10-day tour. The guides Joseph and Diego took good care of me and tried to help me with any questions as quickly as possible. My destinations were varied and I travelled from Quito on a round trip through Ecuador. I visited the surroundings of Quito, the Cotopaxi volcano, Banos with an excursion to a waterfall and then I spent 3 days in the jungle in the Amazon region. It was really great, I had lots of new experiences and got to know lots of people. My accommodation ranged from private accommodation to a hostel. But always in private rooms. That's why the price was a bit higher. I paid around €1800 for the 10 days. I also received help with finding reasonably priced excursions in Peru to Paracas and the Ica Desert for my onward journey, which was very helpful.Show more

  How long is the drive back to Quito? Is there a chance to do a tour instead of a direct transfer? Is there anything to see in between the two cities? Will we be staying in the same hotel the last night, the Yellow Hotel? Do they charge for baggage storage if I want to leave one carry on there during the trip?

  Just as you mentioned, the shared transfer from Cuenca to Quito takes about 8 hours. Because of the distance, it is a direct transfer with only stops for bathroom breaks and lunch. The Yellow House Hotel will be your only hotel in Quito, and you can leave your luggage there if needed.
