We had a good overall experience. The guides were friendly and accommodating, the temples and pyramids were incredible, and the hotel rooms were all comfortable. The food was a range between good and decent (depending on the hotel), although all of the hotel meals were buffet-style. Communication with the agent was generally good, but it would have been helpful to receive clearer confirmation of tour times the day before. The only major disappointment was the “Colored Canyon” tour from Sharm El Sheikh. The tour did not match what we booked and was advertized. Once we were already in the van near Dahab, the guide informed us that the day would include ATV riding, a camel ride, snorkeling, and a canyon stop. We were then asked to pay an additional $30 for equipment and $8 for scarves for the ATV ride. This was frustrating because we had not been told in advance about the extra costs or the snorkeling stop, so we were not prepared and did not bring swimsuits. My wife ended up having to borrow shorts as swimsuit in order to participate. The canyon portion was the most disappointing. It was not really what we expected from a “Colored Canyon” tour, but rather a short walk of about 15 minutes up a hill to see the mountains with some colors. After researching it turn out they took us to some hills near the Colored Canyon (which was the whole point of the tour). Another issue was the value for time spent. The actual activities were quite short: around 30 minutes for the ATV ride, 10 minutes for the camel ride, 20 minutes for snorkeling, and 15 minutes for the trek. Yet we left the hotel at 7:30 a.m. and did not return until almost 6:00 p.m. For such limited activity time, it did not feel worth the full day. If we had known the real itinerary in advance, we would not have booked this tour and would have chosen a different activity instead. That said, the guide himself did his best to accommodate everyone, and I have no complaints about his effort. Finally the cost was US 150$ per person. Had we known that this was the trip we would have spend aroun US 90$ us per preson for a snorkel/diving trip the hotel offered. Overall, most parts of the trip were enjoyable, but this particular excursion was misleading and not worth the time or extra expense.Show more
