- Day 1
Edinburgh to Fort William
You'll head northwest from Edinburgh through the Scottish Highlands, starting with a stop to see The Kelpies, those impressive 30-metre horse head sculptures. From there, the route takes you through lochs, rivers and forests before crossing the dramatic Rannoch Moor with photo stops along the way. You'll get time to explore Glencoe and take in the mountain views, then continue on to Fort William where you'll stay overnight. The whole day moves through some seriously varied landscape, so you'll want your camera ready and comfortable shoes for getting out and around during the stops.

After that, you'll go to Mallaig and take the ferry across to Skye (or drive over the Skye Bridge if it's winter). Once on the island, you'll spend the afternoon in the Sleat Peninsula checking out cascading waterfalls at Glenbrittle and getting views of the Cuillin Mountains before reaching your overnight accommodation. Plan for a fair bit of time on the water and some good stretches of driving, so it's a travel-heavy day but with plenty to see.

Isle of Skye
Your day on the Isle of Skye stays flexible based on what the weather's doing and what local events might be happening. The guide will figure out the best highlights to show you, so there's no rigid schedule. You should expect some hiking to really get into the dramatic scenery the island's known for. Depending on conditions, you might do The Quiraing hill walk, the Old Man of Storr Walk which is one of the island's most popular trails, or head out to Neist Point Lighthouse. You'll spend most of your time taking photos and soaking in the environment before heading back to your accommodation in the late afternoon.
