Kom Ombo with its crocodile mummies was a big hit. But Aswan was something special. The Philae Temple moved to its own island is breathtaking. The motorboat ride there is part of the adventure. The High Dam is an impressive modern contrast. The Egypt Tour Pro guide made the engineering facts interesting even for the kids. Back on the ship they enjoyed the pool and the food which had options for less adventurous eaters. The atmosphere was family friendly. The crowd size in our group was good.   We decided to splurge on the hot air balloon add on and it was worth every single penny. Waking up before dawn was tough but the Egypt Tour Pro team had coffee ready. The drive to the launch site was smooth. Watching dozens of balloons inflate in the pre dawn light was a spectacle itself. Our pilot was skilled and provided calm commentary. The moment of lift off is so gentle you barely feel it. Then the view. The Nile cutting through green fields the temples of the west bank laid out like a map and the sun painting the mountains in gold. It was completely silent except for the occasional blast of the burner. That hour floating above thousands of years of history was pure peace. Back on the ship for breakfast we felt like we had already lived a full day. The balloon experience with Egypt Tour Pro was the definition of luxury and adventure combined.
