Lyon

Once evening arrives, you'll notice the 200 illuminated sights around the city lighting up nicely. The ship departs at 18:00, so you'll want to get settled in and grab dinner on board as you begin heading south along the Rhône.

You'll pull into Viviers at 10:00 in the morning. This small medieval town in the Ardèche has well-preserved buildings and the typical French atmosphere you're probably hoping to find. You have the whole day until 22:00 to walk around and see the sights at your own pace before heading back to the ship for departure.

The ship departs Arles early at 05:00, so you'll be heading south toward Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône. You'll arrive at 09:00, about 40 kilometers south near where the river meets the Mediterranean. The Camargue region surrounds this area, and if you want views of the landscape, the Saint Louis tower provides a good vantage point from up top.

Either way, you'll have several hours to explore before your 9:00 PM departure, so there's no rush to pack everything in.
