  Firstly, we have to say that TourRadar has been excellent to work with( this was our fourth trip booked with them)....
  Firstly, we have to say that TourRadar has been excellent to work with( this was our fourth trip booked with them). This was our second ARosa cruise, the first being their Douro cruise. The Douro cruise accommodated the few English speaking guests even though this cruise line is quite obviously German-centric. We always had an English translation by guides on excursions, etc. On this Rhone cruise it was not the case. We had to cancel our pre-booked excursions as there were no English guides or even someone who would do an English translation. We were given info on each port we were to come into (two of which were changed)….info given on one new stop sounded like a charming place to wander but we were told we were only stopping to let off a tour group that would meet us at the next stop and were not able to disembark there….so no excursions and an inconsequential stop for us. The entertainment onboard had a trumpet player one night (who was quite good) and the rest of the evenings it was a dj playing music from a laptop. There ARE good points…the staff were very welcoming to us four Canadians and we all enjoyed chatting with each other. The boat, while aging, was kept immaculate by the staff. The food was buffet for all meals and the offerings were varied and delicious…the chefs and their staff did an amazing job. Floating down a river and seeing the sights while on a top deck is truly wonderful…we just felt this particular cruise, unfortunately, fell quite short of what it can actually be for ALL guests.   We used TourRadar for two river cruises in Europe. One on the Danube (Europamundo) and one on the Rhone (A-Rosa). TourRadar were great to deal with as far as selecting our bookings, making payments and pass on info on to us from the river cruise companies. Great service. The Europamundo river cruise we rated at 8 to 8.5/10 while the A-Rosa was down a bit at 7 to 7.5/10. All in all, great value for money cruises. Thanks TourRadar.Show more

  Rhone cruise offers stops at some lovely towns, both small and large. But the scenery nothing special compared to, say, the Douro. Some have been a bit critical of the amount of German spoken during announcements, but we didn't find this a problem. We quickly figured things out and there was always someone there to help us if needed. Plenty of English info on the daily events board. Room was fine and quality of food good but we were a little disappointed that all meals were buffet. We would expect table service like we have experienced on other similarly priced cruises on the Douro and Danube. So good, rather than very good.Show more

  The trip began 2 days later than planned (because of the technical problems on the ship). We missed a day in Avignon and a day in Arles. No excursions in English! They told us that there were too few English-speaking passengers !! It was strange, because we chose the trip only because of the excursions in English. Food was from good to excellent. The cabins were rather small but otherwise ok. We don´t choose such trip any more.Show more

We were on board the ship on 9/21/25 but didnt leave the port till 9/24/25 pm… they said due to some mechanical issue.we were stucked in the boat on embarkation port for 3 nights.   Really enjoyed our time on A Rosa Luna, the crew were 1st rate and so accommodating. Cabins are very comfortable and food was abundant and of high quality. We opted for 2 shore excursions both of which were thoroughly enjoyable. Premium option is definitely worth it, drinks are available all dayShow more

  I had been looking forward to experiencing the French countryside and the French cuisine on board this river cruise. The embarkation was uneventful. From the moment we arrived all the announcements were in German. We had to go to the office to ask what the announcements were about as we only speak English and the cruise was advertised as being in English and German. The safety announcements were the ones we were disappointed to not understand. We went to the sun deck and sat under the awning. There was an announcement and siren but we did not understand and when the awning was descending we were afraid that it would crush us. When we noticed what was happening we escaped. Repeatedly I went to the office and requested that we get something in English that described the safety procedures. Rob the DJ said he would get us something for us several times but failed to do so. I even emailed Tourradar to get some help but that did not help us. Then Monica arrived on the ship and she was very good and her announcements were in English. The food was awful. It was not French but using thick sauces and I think the cuisine was Austrian. This should have been advertised as I would not have joined this cruise. The staff were friendly and I am happy for this aspect of our cruise. This is overpriced for what we received and I will not recommend this company to anyone.Show more

Unfortunately, in 2022 the A-ROSA LUNA is non of A-ROSA's international ships. The official languages on board our national ships is only German and the ship announcements and all written information is not provided in English. However, it should be possible for our English-speaking guests to communicate in English with our staff at any time. We will take this point of criticism as an opportunity to continue to train our staff on board in the English language even more intensively. It might be interesting to know that in 2023 we will welcome our international guest on all of A-ROSA's 13 vessels in the fleet. As all documents, announcements, signage and entertainment as well as our crew will be international in 2023. We understand from your comments that the selection and preparation of the meals did not meet your expectations in part. In fact, the food on our ships is expressly praised. An important part of the A-ROSA concept is to offer freshly prepared and high-quality food. If we have not met your taste with our choice of food and its preparation, we are extremely sorry. Our culinary offer is freshly prepared every day from the best ingredients, which is one of the maxims of the A-ROSA concept. Of course, every chef prepares his dishes with an individual touch and will be happy to fulfil an individual request on request. Our chefs, the respective Maître and the responsible hotel manager are happy to listen to such concerns. Please continue to feel welcome at A-ROSA and rest assured that we do everything in our power to ensure relaxing and smooth river cruises.
