  We hear your concerns about potential cancellations due to low water levels. At this stage, what we can share is that the Rhine has not been affected by cancellations for this reason; A-ROSA was only forced to cancel some of their Danube cruises. Additionally, your planned travel period is in the winter, when there is generally a higher chance of precipitation, which typically helps maintain more stable water levels. Based on the information available to us and recent operational history, we do not foresee any issues if you decide to book this cruise on the Rhine.

  My concern about stable water levels for the December/January, 2027 period are not only for low water levels but also HIGHER than normal water levels, whereby the ships cannot travel under bridges en route. I have spoken with a few fellow Australian travellers who were on a Winter season Danube or Rhine River Cruise - due to high water levels, they were packed up, in some cases, off loaded onto coaches to another ship waiting on the other side of the bridge in question or, even worse, continued the remainder of the journey by coach and hotels.

  What we have seen happen with this year's Danube water level cancellations is that A-ROSA offered clients the option to change the date with a 20% reduced rate or a refund. Whichever the traveller ended up choosing. That being said, I would also highly recommend that you read A-ROSA's terms and conditions, which are available on our website through the "Book now" page. Simply scroll to the bottom of the Book Now page and click on the highlighted part that mentions "Payment cancellations and refund conditions". TourRadar has to abide by A-ROSA's terms and conditions on any of its bookings.
