Itinerary
- Day 1
Buenos Aires
You'll arrive in Buenos Aires and have time to walk around this European-feeling city before boarding. Head to one of the local parrillas if you want to try authentic Argentine steak, or check out tango if that interests you. Later in the evening, you'll get on MS Roald Amundsen, attend a briefing about what's ahead, and get settled into your cabin.

- Days 2 - 5
At Sea
Four days at sea heading south toward the Falkland Islands gives you plenty of time to participate in lectures about oceanography, geology, and history in the Science Center. The ship has hot tubs, a sauna with views, and a gym if you want to stay active. Bring binoculars to spot wandering albatrosses and other seabirds from the deck.

Falkland Islands
You'll land in the Falkland Islands and can take a community walk around Stanley to see the Jubilee Villas gardens, Christ Church Cathedral, and the Historic Dockyard Museum. Join the expedition team for landings and hikes where you'll see albatross and penguin colonies along with seals. Keep in mind that all activities depend on weather conditions.

At Sea to Antarctic Peninsula
Two days of sailing toward the Antarctic Peninsula means more time for the Expedition Team to present talks about Antarctica's wildlife, polar history, and glaciology. You'll also learn how to visit this sensitive environment responsibly and can join Citizen Science programs that contribute to global research.

Five days exploring Antarctica with visits to multiple landing sites on the Peninsula and South Shetland Islands. You'll see Gentoo, Chinstrap, and Adelie penguins plus seabirds and seals. Choose between kayaking among icebergs, snowshoeing to higher viewpoints, or exploring old volcanic calderas. Onboard lectures continue each evening.

Drake Passage Crossing
Crossing the Drake Passage is your final leg at sea heading back north. This stretch has strong currents and can be rough (locals call it the 'Drake Shake') or surprisingly calm (the 'Drake Lake'). MS Roald Amundsen is built for this crossing, and the Expedition Team will recap your time in Antarctica and the Falklands with final insights about the Southern Ocean.

Ushuaia to Buenos Aires
You'll disembark in Ushuaia, Argentina's southernmost city in Tierra del Fuego, and take a flight back to Buenos Aires. There's a brief tour of Ushuaia included before you leave. Your expedition cruise ends here, though if you want to stay longer in the region, optional post-program activities are available.
