Itinerary
- Day 1
Spice Plantations - Prison Island
You'll start with a scenic drive from Mtende to Stone Town, where the UNESCO-listed old streets and carved wooden doors give you a real sense of the place's history. The markets are busy and worth walking through to get a feel for local life. After that, you're heading to the House of Wonders and Sultan's Palace to see the architecture and learn about the area's past. In the afternoon, local guides take you through spice plantations where you'll see cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla growing, and you get to taste them too. Later, you'll take a boat out to Prison Island where giant Aldabra tortoises roam around. You'll have time to swim and snorkel in the clear water, then wrap up with a Swahili lunch right by the beach before heading back.
