Cologne
In Cologne, you've got several options for how to spend your time. Walk through the Old Town to see the Rathaus and Heumarkt, check out the Gothic Cathedral and learn about its history during World War II, or rent a bike and cycle along the Rhine. You'll also get to try Kölsch beer, which is only made in this city.

Choose a walking tour, hike up to the castle ruins, bike through the Main River Valley, or visit a pretzel bakery for something different.

Or head to Rothenburg instead, which is one of Germany's best-preserved medieval towns.

You can join a guided bike tour instead if you prefer, and you'll have free time in the afternoon to explore on your own.
