I wish I could say that the tour was excellent, but we experienced a lot of issues. Our first guide for the Pyramids and GEM was okay in the beginning, but we felt very rushed. The guide we had to us to several shops, telling us that we couldn't get in to the GEM until 3:30. I came to learn later that guides often do this to get a commission from the stores, so be wary of the prices. Our desert camping experience was amazing. The guide was exceptional. My fiancee, who hates camping, even had a great time. Too bad the transportation to and from the way station wasn't great. The driver on the way there was driving while watching YouTube most of the time. Driving in Egypt is pretty different from North America, though. Our cruise tour guide was excellent. Peter was very knowledgeable and made sure that we were getting a tailored experience. The cruise was okay, but we continually felt like we were being upsold everything. It also didn't help that we had to pay for water (even with meals) on the cruise. We often experienced "hard sells" for things we didn't need. That being said, the room was great, and the custodial staff was amazing. We loved the blanket animals on the bed. Be prepared that most mornings are VERY early in the morning - most mornings, we had to meet at 4am, and we were not prepared for that. The other frustration was with transportation. After the cruise, we were dropped off at a hotel to wait for our pickup to our train. The driver was 30 minutes late (we messaged our contact after 10 minutes and he only told us the driver would be there soon), he got out of his car, looked through us and went to greet a friend. The manager of the hotel had to stop the driver and usher him back into his car. Once we were in the car, he did say sorry, but I had to specifically ask for the train tickets he was supposed to deliver to us. No explanation given as to why they were late. The sleeper car on the train wasn't great. It was dingy, and over half of the facilities in the cabin didn't work. (No water, and half the lights didn't work properly.) The conductor was very friendly and helpful. Overall, communication problems and constant peddling with poor transportation really soured the experience.Show more

When we asked, on numerous occasions, where we were going, we were told that we would already have information but then the person who was supposed to take us did not know either, so we had to make several phone calls. The hotels were not up to par either, even on one occasion they took us to a private apartment (it was about 23:30h) where there was no mineral water or towels to take a shower, apart from the non-existent breakfast. In summary we did not like the organization except for the guides in Spanish with special mention of Mohamed Mostafa from Luxor and Rosa from Cairo.Show more
