Itinerary
- Day 1
Reykjávík to South Coast
Your Icelandic adventure starts with a pickup in Reykjavík. You'll drive through the Golden Circle route, stopping first at Þingvellir National Park to see the dramatic rift valley where continental plates meet. After that, head to the Geysir geothermal area and watch Strokkur geyser shoot water into the air. From there, you'll see Gullfoss waterfall, which drops powerfully down the mountainside. Later in the day, you'll reach the South Coast and check out Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, then stop at Reynisfjara beach with its dark sand and basalt columns. You'll arrive at your South Coast hotel by evening.

- Day 2
South Coast to Höfn
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Vík, a small coastal village with black sand beaches and tall rock formations rising from the ocean. Here you can either join the Katla Ice Cave tour to explore beneath Mýrdalsjökull glacier or spend time wandering on your own. Grab lunch in the village, then continue driving east to Fjáðrárgljúfur canyon with its steep cliff walls. Later, you'll reach Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon where massive icebergs float in the water. Stop at Diamond Beach nearby to walk along the shore covered with chunks of ice, then head to your hotel in the Höfn area.

- Day 3
Höfn to Egilsstaðir
After breakfast at your hotel, drive the scenic coastal roads above the sea toward Djúpivogur, a quiet fishing village where you can walk around the harbor and take in mountain views. You'll then head toward Egilsstaðir, and depending on the season, either take the Öxi highland road through high terrain with waterfalls (summer) or follow the coastal route through small fishing villages (winter). After lunch, go to Borgarfjörður Eystri to see puffin colonies and explore the village. You have the option to visit Vök Baths for a geothermal soak or have free time in Egilsstaðir before checking in at your hotel.

- Day 4
Egilsstaðir to Akureyri
After breakfast and checkout, drive to Studlagil Canyon to see blue basalt columns and a glacial river flowing through the rocks. Continue driving to Dettifoss, Europe's most powerful waterfall, where water crashes down with tremendous force. Then you'll head to the Lake Mývatn area and visit Námaskarð geothermal area with its mud pots and steaming vents. From there, walk through Dimmuborgir lava field with its dark, twisted rock formations. Stop at Skútustaðagígar pseudocraters and see Goðafoss Waterfall before arriving at your hotel in the Akureyri area.

- Day 5
Akureyri
You'll have breakfast before exploring Akureyri, known as Iceland's northern hub. You can choose to join a whale watching tour if conditions are right, or spend time on your own walking the main street, climbing the stairs up to the church, and checking out the botanical gardens. After lunch, drive to Víðimýrarkirkja, a historic turf church that gives insight into how Icelanders lived in rural areas long ago. Continue to Hítraverk, a large rock monolith standing in the sea, then stop at Kolugljúfur canyon with waterfalls cascading down the cliffs. You'll reach your hotel in Laugarbakki by evening.

- Day 6
Laugarbakki to Reykjávík
On your final day, start with breakfast before driving to Grábrók, a volcanic crater where you can take a short walk to the rim and see the surrounding landscape spread out below. Continue to Hraunfossar, a series of waterfalls that flow through lava rock. Stop at Sturlureykir, a traditional Icelandic horse farm where you can learn about the unique horses raised here and their role in Icelandic culture. Visit Deildartunguhver next, Europe's most powerful hot spring, to see boiling water and feel the geothermal heat. After a break in Borgarnes, you'll drive back to Reykjavík, ending your Icelandic trip.
