- Day 1
Anchorage
You'll land in Anchorage and might catch views of Mount Denali from the air if conditions cooperate. Arrange your own transportation to reach the hotel, then settle in for the night.
Landmarks Mount Denali - Day 2
Anchorage
Spend the day exploring Anchorage on your own schedule. The Anchorage Museum is worth checking out if you're interested in local art and history. Head back to the hotel by 6:00 pm where you'll meet your tour guide and group for a quick briefing, then it's an early night before the adventure begins.

Landmarks Anchorage Museum - Days 3 - 5
Anchorage - Talkeetna - Denali National Park
Drive toward Denali National Park with a stop in Talkeetna along the way. You'll spend two full days in the park looking for bears, moose, and other wildlife. Ride the park buses if you prefer comfort or get out and hike through the backcountry. One day is yours to do optional activities. Sleep in a tent for three nights.

Landmarks Denali National Park Mount Denali Talkeetna - Days 6 - 7
Denali to Remote Glacier Camp
You'll leave Denali and take the historic Denali Highway, an unpaved road that was the original way to reach the park. The drive takes you through the Maclaren River Valley and over one of Alaska's second-highest mountain passes. Once you reach Maclaren River Lodge, you'll board a jet boat heading to Remote Glacier Camp where you're spending the night in a bush camp with just your group and guide. There's no cell reception, no roads, no other people, just the wilderness. The next day involves paddling a canoe downriver back to the lodge for another night in a more settled location.

Landmarks Denali National Park Denali Highway Maclaren River Valley - Days 8 - 10
Denali National Park
You're driving along an old railroad line to reach a remote end-of-the-road campground in the largest national park in the country. This spot used to be busy with gold panners back in the day, but now it's quiet and peaceful. You'll be here for three nights with plenty of open time to do what you want. There are hiking trails of different lengths if you want to go at your own pace, and you can also sign up for optional activities like rafting, ice climbing, or guided tours about the copper rush history of the area.

Landmarks Denali National Park - Days 11 - 12
Valdez
Your time in Valdez offers flexibility. Grab coffee at waterfront cafes, hike trails that run along the bay, or watch for sea otters, seals, and sea lions in the water. Keep watch for black and brown bears in the evening when they're fishing for salmon. Stay in a tent for two nights.

Landmarks Valdez Waterfront 
- Day 13
Valdez - Anchorage
Head back to Anchorage, driving over Thompson Pass and through the Chugach Mountains with views of valleys and snow-capped peaks throughout. Stop at Matanuska Glacier on the route. You'll arrive in Anchorage by 3:00 pm, marking the end of the group portion. Fly home today or continue exploring on your own.
