- Day 1
Arrival in Malta
You'll arrive at Malta Airport and pick up your rental car for the drive to Sliema. After checking into your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to settle in and explore at whatever pace feels right. It's a good time to grab dinner nearby and get oriented to your surroundings.

- Day 2
Valletta
Start your day in Valletta with an optional 30-minute harbour cruise featuring gondolas if you're interested. Head to Upper Barrakka Gardens and time it to see the Gun Salute at noon, which gives you views across the Grand Harbor. You'll walk through the city past Castille Palace and Parliament Building, then spend time at St John's Co Cathedral where you can see Caravaggio's artwork. Later that evening, catch the Malta Experience audio-visual show that covers the islands' 7000-year history.

- Day 3
Ta'Qali - Mdina
Drive to Mosta and visit the Basilica with its enormous unsupported dome, the third largest in Europe and a building that survived bombing in World War II. From there, head to Ta'Qali crafts village and stop at Mdina Glass Factory to watch artisans work. Then explore Mdina, the old capital, wandering through its Baroque buildings and past the cathedral, with time to walk the bastion walls for nice views.

Marsaxlokk
Drive south to Vittoriosa, one of the oldest towns on the islands, and walk through its historical streets to the Church of St. Lawrence. Check out the Inquisitor's Palace from the Knights of St John era. Later, head to Marsaxlokk fishing village where you'll see the traditional colorful boats. If you're visiting on Sunday, the seafront market is running and worth spending time around.

- Day 5
Hagar Qim Temples - Dingli Cliffs
Head to Wied iz Zurrieq to see the Blue Grotto from the plateau, and if conditions allow, take an optional boat ride into the grotto and caves. Continue to Hagar Qim Temples, a UNESCO site with unique architecture sitting on a hilltop overlooking the sea. End your day at Dingli Cliffs, the highest point on Malta at over 250 meters, where the views extend far across the water.

Gozo Island
Take the ferry to Gozo (ferry ticket separate) and start with Ggantija temples, the world's oldest free-standing temples still standing. Visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Ta Pinu, a major spiritual site on the island. Spend time in Xlendi, a quiet bay town, then explore Victoria, the capital, and its Cittadella fortified city for island views. Dwerja Bay has caves worth exploring before you catch the ferry back to Malta.
