  We (my wife and I) had a great time on the tour. We were met at Aswan by our guide, Mahmoud, and taken to the boat, Casa Sol, for check in and lunch. Mahmoud was an excellent guide - the best: he was so knowledgeable about the temples and tombs. He was also kind and good humoured. He let us set our own agenda as far as possible, took us where we wanted to go, and didn't take us where we didn't want to go. The boat was great, and the food was very good and staff were really helpful. There was a lot on, and we passed on a couple of the temple visits to spend more time on the boat. All of the temples were excellent, as we're the tombs. Sailing up the Nile was a great experience. If I went again, I would take a longer trip to enjoy the Nile more.Show more

  Ship cabins were "ok". TV never worked, despite complaining to reception. Bath towels and linens were grey, not white.. my cabin faced the adjacent boat, which was noisy and kept me from sleeping. Food in dining room was average, at best. Service staff were attentive. Tour guide was young and inexperienced, but spoke English well. Information was provided, but not enough, and only when prompted by questions. All the ship staff kept pestering us for tips, even the receptionists.   This was a small part of the 8 day tour of Egypt. It was also my first time on a cruise of any sort. The ship was absolutely wonderful, in particular our cabin (rm 202) on the Cleopatra, was luxurious. Staff were amazingly attentive, and friendly. The service was excellent and no task was too much as staff rushed about to our every need. The food was delicious, fresh and extremely tasty. Some of our on shore tours were of odd hours and yet the staff made sure that all meals were prepared and kept warm no matter what time we returned to the ship.Show more
