I was a bit concerned reading a few reviews regarding breakfast. For me, it's my main meal of the day, and hope you can reassure me that there will be ample choice, and not just bread and cereal. that and coffee, and I'm happy as a clam.

    • Under Down Under ToursOperatorWritten January 2026

Our tours include continental style breakfast. This means a variety of cereals, toast and spreads, juice, fruits, a hot drink station with coffee and a selection of teas. Some hotels may offer yogurt. Further, some of the locations offer an upgrade to a cooked meal that you can pay for directly to the hotel. Also, we make numerous stops throughout the tour where you can buy additional snacks from supermarkets or convenience stores. Where possible in the itinerary, our guides will make a stop for a coffee and snacks mid-morning. With all this in mind, if you are worried about the breakfasts being too light, I think there are options available to you to supplement them. Please bear in mind that the tour is priced accordingly for a continental breakfast.

Are there opportunities to see the Southern Lights on this tour?

    Tour Details
    • Under Down Under ToursOperatorWritten November 2024

The best time to see the Aurora Australis (Southern Lights) in Tasmania is during the winter months from May to September, when the nights are longer and darker. However, the aurora can occur year-round, and there have been sightings in autumn and spring as well. The key factors for spotting the aurora are clear, dark skies and minimal light pollution. New moon phases and nights with little cloud cover offer the best opportunities for viewing. While we have had guests see an aurora while on tour with us, it is not something that we can guarantee.
