Itinerary
- Day 1
Darwin to Kakadu National Park
You'll meet your Journey Director in Darwin and head out in a luxury vehicle across the Finniss River to Litchfield National Park. Swimming at Wangi Falls surrounded by tropical rainforest comes next, then you'll continue cross-country into Kakadu National Park where you can watch for crocodiles, brolgas, magpie geese and jabiru across the marshes and wetlands. After checking in at the Crocodile Hotel in Jabiru, there's time to explore the Aboriginal Art Gallery before meeting your fellow travelers over dinner with wine.

- Day 2
Kakadu National Park
Start with an optional scenic flight over Kakadu to see the park's size, waterfalls, billabongs and floodplains. Your Journey Director will lead a walk at Ubirr rock art site to see ancient rock art and views from Nadab lookout over the wetlands and escarpments. After lunch, you'll take the famous Yellow Waters Billabong boat cruise where you'll spot bird species, estuarine crocodiles and see the billabong system up close. Back at your hotel, swim in the outdoor pool, explore the art gallery, and enjoy dinner with wine.

Kakadu National Park to Katherine
You'll visit Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) to see Aboriginal rock art dating back 20,000 years with a local Bininj Aboriginal guide providing interpretation of the art and culture as you walk through the outdoor galleries. From there you'll drive through Kakadu's ancient lands to Katherine and on to Nitmiluk National Park. Check in at Cicada Lodge, a five-star eco-lodge with private balconies overlooking the park, then cool off with a swim in the pool as the sun sets before enjoying dinner.

Nitmiluk National Park
This day lets you take things slowly at Cicada Lodge and enjoy all the amenities. You'll have a relaxing swim in the resort pool and lunch will be served on the lodge's deck overlooking the natural surroundings. Your afternoon is free at your leisure, then you'll head out for a special sunset dinner cruise along Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge. You'll see the gorges, spot wildlife, and learn about the history and culture of the local Jawoyn people while enjoying a three-course dinner with native flavors prepared on board.

Katherine to Darwin
You'll leave the wilderness behind and journey north on your return to Darwin. A stop at Edith Falls gives you a chance to cool off in the cascading clear waters. Later, you'll visit the Adelaide River War Cemetery before continuing your journey back to Darwin.

Darwin to Alice Springs
After a morning flight to Alice Springs, your Central Australia Journey Director will share insights on life in this isolated town. You'll visit the historic Overland Telegraph Station, the site of the first European settlement in Alice Springs, then explore the West MacDonnell Ranges on a walk through Simpsons Gap.

Alice Springs to Kings Canyon Resort
You'll explore the 4WD Giles Track, crossing dry river beds and outback landscapes to reach Kings Canyon Resort. This evening brings Under a Desert Moon, a unique local dining experience with the flickering glow of a fire, sparkling wine and canapes, followed by dinner prepared from fresh produce and ingredients unique to the Australian outback.

Landmarks Giles Track Kings Canyon - Day 8
Kings Canyon to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park
You'll gaze across the deep chasm at Kings Canyon and take a six-kilometer rim walk past the domed 'Lost City' and the 'Garden of Eden', or stroll along the boulder-strewn canyon creek bed if you prefer something more relaxed. Next you'll visit the Wanmarra Aboriginal Community to learn about First Nations culture and the Luritja and Pertame peoples' spiritual connection to the land, discovering bush food and medicine. After crossing desert landscapes to Curtin Springs Station for lunch, you'll arrive at Ayers Rock Resort in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park to watch the outback sunset with sparkling sundowners.

Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park
You'll start the day relaxed before exploring the spiritual connection the local Anangu caretakers have with the land. You'll skirt the red walls of Uluru, hear ancient tales and see rock art at Mutitjulu Waterhole. Later you can relax by the resort pool or take to the skies to see Uluru from above. Your afternoon includes a walk through Walpa Gorge at Kata Tjuta, then dinner at Ilkari Restaurant this evening.

Uluru to Alice Springs
You'll observe the shifting lights of Bruce Munro's Field of Light art installation as the desert awakens and sunrise lights up across Uluru. After traversing the vast outback, you'll arrive in Alice Springs. Spend some free time wandering around town, exploring the Todd Street Mall with its cafes and Aboriginal art galleries. This evening, head to an open-air bush BBQ Celebration Dinner located off the beaten track in the East MacDonnell Ranges with drinks as a bush balladeer sings classic Australian songs and shares stories of outback living under the Southern Hemisphere's Milky Way.

You can relax this morning as your journey comes to an end. You have the option to take a hot air balloon ride to experience the scenic landscapes of the outback before your journey concludes.
