What is the situation with luggage? I'll have a backpack, but also a luggage bag. Is that accounted for in the travels in terms of space or being taken to/from the accommodation?

You are welcome to bring one main luggage bag in addition to your day backpack. Main luggage will be transported to and from the accommodation and stored securely while you are out hiking. Space for standard-sized luggage has been accounted for in all vehicle transfers. Backpack- This is what you'll carry with you during the hikes and should contain essentials such as water, snacks, rain gear, and personal items needed on the trail.

We were looking for a hiking trip. I have noticed that you need to have a private vehicle. Do we hire a car and do this trip. How much is walking and how much is driving?

On Walk Kakadu National Park transport will be provided by private vehicle. You don't have to have your own car we arrange all transportation when not walking. This trip involves plenty of walking over varied terrain and is best suited to travellers with a good level of mobility. Good footwear, plus perhaps walking poles are recommended. Day 2: Total walking time is approximately 2-3 hours. Mamaluka wetlands walk is a Grade 2 (easy) walk of 3km, taking around 1.5 hours. The Ubirr walk is a Grade 2-3 (easy to moderate) 1km loop, taking around 1 hour to see the rock art sites and enjoy the views. The 250m climb to the lookout is steep.

An excellent, well organised trip. Our driver/guide, Sarah Ellis, was an absolute treasure. The trip had to be rejigged to allow for the road closures, but we didn’t miss anything. Underground accommodation in Coober Pedy, the opportunity to fly over both North and South Lake Eyre, the bone shaking Ridgetop 4 wheel drive from Arkaroola, and a helicopter ride over Wilpena Pound. Local artists, baby kangaroos, indigenous history, and time to wander along tracks through towering gum trees made for a wonderful experience. Our accommodation was very comfortable- and varied. To see the “red” desert covered in a carpet of green after the rain was special. Thoroughly recommend the trip.Show more

The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
