  Needs reorganization of itinerary. It's too rushed. Not able to see beauty of Kyoto, lots of time on the bus not sightseeing c4 star hotels disappointing and not necessary. Some away from anything and cleanliness very disappointing. When you arrive late everyday you only use it to sleep. Best choice was Crystal hotel in Osaka. 3 star and perfect location and had it all. I would suggest change in a way tour guide works. Most of tours world wide have guide go in with group and explain everything you looking at, history, traditions etc. Not just go in and I see you in 1 hr! Disappointing. Considering the fact that hardly anyone speaks English, it's not acceptable guiding. Please don't stop for lunch in most touristy places cause there is not enough time to get lunch while you wait in line for half hour and for food delivery and there is no time to eat. Optional Osaka palace was poor due to crowds, time limit and again go and have a look by yourself. It's beautiful outside and is just a museum inside. With time restriction. Read about it ahead of time or be disappointed.. our driver was great and Silvia did good job under the circumstances and time pressure.Show more

  The trip was interesting, informative but exhausting. Thankfully we had a bus with an excellent bus driver! Hotels were good except one “DORM”-type motel for two nights in a dangerous neighbourhood (it was like a 2-star motel, not 4-star hotel!). But we were partially compensated for that. Breakfast buffets at the hotels were good (again, except that “dorm”-type motel). TourRadar pushes us to buy a “trip coverage”, but when I asked our tour guide to drop me at the hospital or to help me with an appointment for my infected toes, - it was no help at all (except a long story to the whole bus group about one woman who was given a premature birth to the baby and who had to come back to her country to sell her house to pay medical bills in Japan). So, I was and still confused about the purpose of buying insurance for the trip…Show more

The Dotonbori Crystal Exe Hotel was chose because its prime location: it's situated in Osaka's Minami district, the hotel is within walking distance of popular attractions such as Dotonbori, Kuromon Ichiba Market, and the National Bunraku Theater. It's listed as a 3 star hotel on Google with good reviews. We are aware that the hotel might get noisy because it's located in a very busy area. We are signing contracts with many new hotels in Osaka and will have more options for our future guests;) Since the travel insurance was offered by Tourradar, we at Stunning Tours don't know about the details.   We booked Japan 9 days delux (4* hotels) 9 months ago as part of our 40 days ”asian bucket list tour”. Very evasive information prior to the trip and 30 days before they canceled. All international flights and arrangements then already in place and not possible to make alternative trip arrangements. They ”offered” to join the same trip but with 3* hotels and we had to accept. The trip was not 9 days but had one day for arriving and one for departing as well as two ”free” days. Active tour then 5 days and consequently long days on the bus. Bus was nice but hotel very basil with the smallest and least comfortable rooms we have experienced. At several occations you wrre let off several blocks from the hotel to carry your suitcases through traffic. Brekfasts with very limited continental options and overcrowed small facilities. Our hotel in ”Tokyo” located about 40 km outside the city center. Guide was very good and personal and helpt saving most of the back office shortcomings. Not a trip or agency I would reccomend to snyone. Most likely the first and last visit to Japan.Show more

  Dear Goran, Thanks a lot for leaving a review for us. From time to time we have to cancel a tour because the minimum number of guests isn't met. This is especially difficult when we face a group of guests cancelling the tour very close to the departure date. On original Splendid Japan Deluxe tour, we had a family of 7 guests cancelled the tour so we were unable to operate it anymore. We communicated with you regarding the situation and refunded 800 USD per guest, 1600 USD in total for the changing of the tour. The itinerary was exactly the same and we didn't change the itinerary since you signed up. As we explained, the only difference was the hotel standards. We need to count the first day of arrival and the last day of departure because most of our guests join the tour from different countries. They may arrive or depart from the tour as early as 8am or as late as 8pm. It's not plausible to arrange any tours on the first/the last day of the itinerary. On this particular itinerary there was one free day arranged when you can join our optional Hiroshima tour or visit nearby attractions such as the universal studios in Osaka. It is arranged this way because we had many past guests who did wish to have some free time on their own to explore the city based on their preferences. The itinerary you booked had one extended stay in Tokyo, which we did specify in the tour description. We do have a 8Day Splendid Japan where there is no extended stay in Tokyo so you can arrange your own post stays according to your own preferences. As we introduced in the welcome letter, the hotel we used are 3 star hotels and Japan hotel rooms tend to be very small compared to western style hotels. Please accept my sincere apology for the inconvenience of changing the tour. And we wish you a cheerful and fruitful 2025!

  *Because of a booking mix-up, we ended up on a slightly different tour than what we booked. We were in all 4 or 5 star hotels rather than 3 star normally included in this specific tour. We had a great time. Our guide Yujin was fun, accommodating and knowledgeable. We had opportunities to get to know and bond with some amazing fellow travelers from all over the world. All of our hotels were very nice and the breakfasts were diverse and filling.Show more

  As our introduction to Japan, the tour was seamlessly organized. The motorcoach was spacious, clean, and driver exceptional. The sights chosen for our stops were well-curated, incredibly interesting, and created lasting memories. For the most part, all of the hotels were good to excellent, (albeit some rooms were quite small) offering bountiful breakfast buffets never seen before! We are happy we chose the four star rather than the three star hotel package. Our group of diverse travelers were wonderful, and we made lasting friends. The only negative was our tour guide who replaced the tour guide we were originally to have. Our guide was on his way home when called in to service, so he started the journey tired. He walked at a very fast pace, leaving many behind and often not answering questions of travelers if he did not feel like it. He also espoused some of his own political views which was uncalled for. Over time, he softened some, but you win some lose some with tour guides. Fabulous trip overall!Show more

  I would give this tour 4+ stars. I have done many organised trips to Peru, India, Cambodia and Uganda. I have used Tour Radar for all of these, they are first class. This tour is well organised, has a busy schedule, good for an overview of Japan. An additional half day of free time would have been good. It’s easy to get around Japan on your own and very safe. Good hotels but don’t eat there, too expensive and better to explore for yourself. Good to have a guide who checks you into your hotel, gets tickets and gives an excellent over view of history and culture. I am 63, very fit and healthy, some of our group struggled with the pace of walking as it was very hot and humid. Think carefully about how you will cope with walking. Great trip to experience Japan.Show more

We left some free time on the itinerary intentionally to allow guest to arrange some activities on their own. However, from June of 2024, we will re-structure our tour arrangement and will include the half day tour in Kyoto and day tour in Tokyo with the itinerary with no additional costs.
