  • V

    Victoria

    Asked on June 23rd, 2023

On the tour how much of the route is along a River? How much is along a road? Is there much elevation gain? Is the route difficult or easy?

    Tour Details
    Transport
    • EurobikeOperatorWritten June 2023

Basically, the tour runs mostly along the river. There are only a few small sections here, such as just before Burghausen where it is a bit hillier. The tour is advertised as an easy tour and therefore easily doable for beginners.

    • V

      Victoria

      TravelerWritten June 2023

Why do you take a train for the last part of the trip into Vienna, instead of bike? Would that be a good part of the river to bicycle?

    • EurobikeOperatorWritten June 2023

The train ride from Krems to Vienna is planned because otherwise you would have to cycle approx. 120 km on this stage if you cycle directly to Vienna. You are welcome to cycle the route from Krems to Vienna. However, we do not have a route book for this. The official Danube Cycle Path itself is well signposted on this route.

    • V

      Victoria

      TravelerWritten June 2023

Is the Krems to Vienna less beautiful than the rest of the tour from Passau to Vienna?

    • EurobikeOperatorWritten June 2023

The route from Krems to Vienna is one of the more beautiful stages on the tour from Passau to Vienna because of the Wachau (around Krems). However, it should be noted that Vienna is a large city and you will then have to cycle through it to your hotel.

    • V

      Victoria

      TravelerWritten June 2023

Is it possible to add a night in Krems and then ride the next day to Vienna? What would the distance into Krems be? And the distance to Vienna? Can we catch a train somewhere outside of Vienna in order to NOT ride the urban area of Vienna?

    • EurobikeOperatorWritten June 2023

We are happy to schedule an extra night in Krems for you. The distance from Krems to Vienna is about 80 km. Along the route you are welcome to change to the train. However, it should be noted that the way to the hotel, despite the train ride, from the train station is basically also by bike.

    • V

      Victoria

      TravelerWritten July 2023

Do you have category A hotels as well as B available? Can I upgrade my hotels? Do any on this tour have a spa or pool?

    • EurobikeOperatorWritten July 2023

We have hotels in category A and category B. Some of our hotels also have a spa area. However, this is not included in our tour price.
