Medellín
Your Colombian adventure kicks off at José María Córdoba Airport in Medellín. A private car picks you up for the drive to your hotel, which takes about 30 to 60 minutes depending on traffic. Your English-speaking guide meets you there and helps get you oriented while sharing useful information about what's coming up over the next few days.

Medellín
This morning covers Medellín's transformation through a panoramic city tour. You'll visit the Botanical Garden and Ruta N Technology Center, then ride the MetroCable aerial cable car to see how it changed the city. After that, head into Comuna 13 to learn about its resilience and recovery. The day wraps up at Botero Square where 23 bronze sculptures by Colombian Master Fernando Botero are on display.

Guatapé
Drive through lush Antioquia landscapes heading to the Guatapé Reservoir, which covers 64 square kilometers and provides 30% of Colombia's energy. The iconic Rock of Guatapé dominates the landscape here. From there, explore the vibrant local town known as Colombia's most colorful, with its signature zocalos (colorful patterns). You'll take a private boat ride through the reservoir and have lunch with views of the water and surrounding hills.

Medellín to Santa Marta
After breakfast at your hotel, you're transferred to the airport for a short domestic flight to Santa Marta. Once you land, your driver picks you up for a 60 to 75 minute drive to your hotel in the Tayrona Region. The rest of the day is yours to settle in and rest before the nature hike tomorrow.

- Day 5
Tayrona National Park
Head into Tayrona National Park for a medium-intensity hike lasting about 2.5 hours each way through mangrove swamps, coral areas, and forests. You'll see over 100 mammal species like howling monkeys and pumas, plus more than 300 bird species including the threatened Andean condor. The hike ends at Cabo San Juan where you can swim in the sea and have lunch right by the shore.

Santa Marta to Cartagena
After breakfast in Santa Marta, travel by private transport on a scenic 4 to 5 hour drive to Cartagena, Colombia's Caribbean jewel. Check into your hotel and rest before your afternoon tour starts around 3 or 4 PM. Walk the historic walls built against pirate invasions, visit plazas and the Church and Monastery of San Pedro Claver, wander through colorful colonial streets with bougainvillaea-draped balconies, and see El Castillo De San Felipe de Barajas, La Popa Convent, and the artistic Getsemaní district.

Get picked up at your hotel and head to the pier for a boat trip to the Rosario Islands, about 45 to 60 minutes away by water. This protected archipelago of 27 islands features Colombia's only primarily underwater national park. Spend your day at your own pace snorkeling, swimming, or relaxing on the beach, and have lunch served on the island.
