Yes, we do have a date for 2027, expected departure on 19th May 2027 with a trip price of £6695 plus Local Payment of USD$1600. We are offering a 10% early bird discount and as our 2027 rates are a work in progress if it works out that the final prices are a bit less then we will reduce it for you and you will still get the Early Bird Discount.

    • Oasis OverlandOperatorWritten September 2024

We are updating our itineraries on this route for 2025. The best suggestion would be Ashgabat to Bishkek - 29 days. This trip would start on 22nd May 2025, finishing in Bishkek on 19th June 2025. If you could squeeze longer than 34 days, the truck does a loop through Kazakhstan and around Lake Issyk Kul and back to Bishkek, which is 45 days long.

I am interested in the 29-days trip. Looking for further details.

    • Oasis OverlandOperatorWritten September 2024

The 29 days trip finishing in Bishkek is priced at £1995 per person plus local payment of US$950 per person. The 45 days trip is priced at £2895 per person plus local payment of US$1500 per person.

Is there oxygen available once we cross above 3,000 meters?

    • Oasis OverlandOperatorWritten May 2024

The trains that we take to and from Tibet all have sealed compartments with an oxygen supply that keeps the level of oxygen in the carriages stable, even when you gain altitude. They also have direct oxygen supply pipes to fit to your nose for anyone who is feeling effects of altitude sickness.

Do you offer separate tours in those areas, and if so, can you send me a link?

    • Oasis OverlandOperatorWritten May 2024

We do offer the Tbilisi to Bishkek section all on its own. That is all done with the overland truck. The price of the trip from Tbilisi to Bishkek next year is GBP 4195 plus a local payment of USD 1900 paid at the start of the trip. That covers you for 59 days.

Is it possible to take this trip as a private tour? And how much would that cost?

    Price / Availability
    Tour Details
    • Oasis OverlandOperatorWritten January 2024

This trip is run in a mix of ways. From Ashgabat as far as the Chinese border we travel on one of our overland expeditions trucks (seating up to 23/24) with 2 of our crew (one driver, one tour leader). From the Chinese border we use local and private transport (minibuses and trains), escorted by a Chinese guide in parts as well as one of our own tour leaders. It is not practical to run the trip privately for 1 person using a truck. We do arrange charters and private groups, but they would need a minimum of 8-10 people really to be cost effective for you. We could however potentially arrange a different style of trip, working with our partners in each country to provide local guides and transport. It is going to be quite expensive for just 1 person though.

    • Oasis OverlandOperatorWritten October 2023

These are mostly camping trips and at least 40% of the nights are spent in tents. About 60% of the time we use hostels or simple hotels. We overnight at campsites with shared washing/toilet facilities.

    • Oasis OverlandOperatorWritten October 2023

An extra night in Ashgabat is priced at £65.00 per person, per night, in twin room accommodation. We don't offer single supplements on these trips.
