The tour trails are not challenging and there seemed to be as lot of repeat scenery as that is Australia when you go...

Thanks Margaret for providing your feedback and review, very much appreciated. We have certainly had a bout of very unseasonal and warm weather. Typically south east Queensland at that time of year is cold nights and clear sunny days, but the weather being the weather nowadays meant your trip was actually hot! This did require some change to the riding for this Queensland tour and it's great to hear the guide managed that in a way that was suitable for all. We very much appreciate your repeat custom with us and thank you again for your feedback. We can't wait to host you again sometime soon. (ps can we convince you to join us on our Danube ride in 2025!!??). Safe riding.

We have a group of about 10 travelers from New Zealand interested in a cycling tour in Queensland, focusing on Townsville and Magnetic Island, in July 2026. Could you please organize an itinerary that includes these locations and send a quote?

We certainly have a cycling tour in Queensland that we can offer you in July, which is an ideal time to ride in that part of Australia. Queensland is a huge state, and our tour runs in the Brisbane Valley, following the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail which is a fantastic rail trail to ride. We then pop over to Noosa Heads for a couple of nights to finish the trip with a little seaside lux and some riding there as well. It's a great trip but it is a long way from Townsville and Magnetic Island. We have a departure on the 21st July and can accommodate 12 guests, with open availability for your group. The beauty of this arrangement is everything is already booked, nothing else to do. So the price is as per the page above, and it's all ready to go.

We are hoping to cycle Townsville Magnetic Island this year but are giving no luck finding an operator.

    • Tour de VinesOperatorWritten February 2026

It's not a known area for multi day cycling, yes some day tour riding but for a 5-7 night itinerary there isn't a lot of options sadly, it would be a lovely time of year to be there. There are some other areas in Queensland that might be an option depending on what you're looking for. There is also northern NSW and the mid west which at that time of year are also good.
