    Nathan

    Asked on January 25th, 2026

I note you say have to be good & fit - how about an 80 year old and his 60 year old wife? Wife jogs 3 Km 3 times a week, I train HIIT & weights 3 or 4. Trekked Langtang in Nepal 2 years ago (up to 3400 meters) and plan to go again in October. My cardio specialist says go for it. Been in the Oz bush a lot of my life. How hard is your tour? What do you think?

    Age Range
    Tour Details
    • Autopia ToursOperatorWritten January 2026

Our tour requires a minimum moderate to advanced level of fitness, with daily walks ranging from 2 km to 4 km, sometimes over steep rocky sections, in direct sunlight and high humidity. The tour includes an approximate 9–11 km walk. Walks are always conducted at the guide's discretion to ensure guest safety. Based on what you've described, your trekking experience in Nepal, regular HIIT and jogging routines, and time spent in the Australian bush, you both sound well-prepared for the physical aspects of this tour. For participants over 75, we do require a doctor's certificate confirming fitness for the tour.

Is there a minimum number of people for your group tours? Are there BALANCED vegetarian meals offered?

    • Autopia ToursOperatorWritten April 2023

Our tours do have a minimum number of people on board, however we are very active when it comes to monitoring our numbers, and only cancel or change tours if it is the worst case scenario. We are not what you mean by balanced, but we do provide a wide arrary of choices for you to select from. These do range from tour to tour, but the meals will be all healthily portioned out and sufficent for the 5 day tour.

    Asked on August 23rd, 2022

I am a mature aged woman that would like to see NT including Kakadu. I would like a room of my own, NO shared facilities. I plan to go for 5 days, leaving from Brisbane. What do you have? I am reasonably fit but certainly dont want to hike for hours and hours. I like the idea of a coach tour.

    • Autopia ToursOperatorWritten August 2022

We operate the first 4 days of this tour on a 21 seater 4 wheel drive air conditioned vehicle, but we usually keep it to a maximum of 16 - 17 persons. The 5th day of the tour (which is to Litchfield) will be operated on a 24 seater bus with a maximum of 21 - 22 persons. We have 5 seats left for the departure on Monday 12th September 2022. The accommodation on this tour is based on a Twin share basis. A single room supplement might be an option but this is strictly subject to availability. While the hikes don't go on for hours and hours, they can be up to 5 km return hikes/walks. The temperatures in Kakadu can be quite warm in September (around 38 degrees or so).

    Asked on August 11th, 2022

If travelling alone, is it possible to get a single hotel room on this tour?

    • Autopia ToursOperatorWritten August 2022

We offer twin share with another traveller of the same gender as our accomodation suppliers are limited with room types. Once you make the booking, please contact us directly and we can check for you if this is a possibilty but there are no guarantees for single room upgrades.

    Asked on August 9th, 2022

Can you please advise what is the exact time of the start of the trip?

    Tour Details
    • Autopia ToursOperatorWritten August 2022

The pickups start from around 6.20 am in Darwin city depending on where the customers are getting picked up. We don't pick up from every hotel or accommodation address but we can work out the best possible pick up location for the customers once we know where they are staying. Our default pick up location is Travelodge Resort Darwin, 64 Cavenagh Street, Darwin at 6.30 am.

What sort of accommodation? Can u give me details of where we would stay?

    Accommodation
    • Autopia ToursOperatorWritten July 2022

The accommodation will be on Twin Share Basis (2 single beds). We can try for a double room if required but not guaranteed due to the limited available options. The first 2 nights will be at Anbinik Kakadu Resort. You will have a private room but the shared bathroom facilities will be outside your room. The 3rd night accommodation will be at Pine Creek Hotel. Here you will have ensuite facilities. The 4th night will be Darwin at H on Smith Hotel and will have ensuite facilities as well.

Thank you for that info! We are interested in doing this tour but next year! Can u give us details on which is the best time to go! Not too hot as we are retired from Perth and do not do camping out anymore!!

    • Autopia ToursOperatorWritten July 2022

The dry season is usually between May and October. Mid June to August is probably a good time for you then where the typical temperatures are usually around 29 degrees. But this is something that can't be guaranteed obviously. Please do a bit of research at your end too and see what works best for you.
