  Twin room would be okay as we will travel together. So twin room will mean that I will share the room together with my best friend? Or are we together in a room with other people?

    Yes, that is correct. A twin room means that you and your friend will share the room together. You will not be sharing the room with any other travelers.

    When I book it, can I cancel it without any costs once it is confirmed? Or do I have to pay for the booking. Because I have another trip that I am interested in and I have to book both to try which one is free. Do I get the 200 euros back?

    As you are still outside the full payment period (80 days prior to departure), you can cancel your booking after it has been confirmed at loss of deposit. The good news is that the €200 deposit would become a FlexDeposit, which we can hold for you and use towards a future booking until you turn 36. So if you decide to book another trip instead, you would not lose the value of your deposit.

    I would not be booking my alternative trip through Contiki. Does this mean that, if I cancel my current booking, I would not receive the €200 deposit back as a monetary refund, but instead the €200 would only be retained as a FlexDeposit/voucher that I could use towards a future Contiki booking until I turn 36? Is that correct?

    Yes, that is correct. Our deposits are non-refundable however they are fully flexible for trips 7 days or longer and can be used until you turn 36 when booking with Contiki again! When you're ready to travel with us again just reach out to us with your booking reference and we will get you travelling. Deposits are also transferrable to friends and family.

    Contiki is specifically designed for young travelers aged 18 to 35. Contiki is a youth travel brand that focuses on creating experiences for like-minded travelers within this age range, with an itinerary, pace, activities, and social environment tailored to younger adults. As a result, travelers over the age of 35 are not eligible to join Contiki standard tours.
    
    If you are over the age limit, we would be happy to recommend a similar experience through Trafalgar, which welcomes a wider range of travelers and offers comparable Scandinavian and Northern Lights itineraries.

    Is this the best value for money trip you have to Norway? A lot of the activities seem to be separate in the Norway Fjords and Northern lights trip is there any other trip you do to Norway where the activities are mainly included in the overall price?

Generally, our longer Scandinavian or Nordic itineraries tend to include more sightseeing, guided experiences, and transportation within the overall package, reducing the need for optional add-ons. If you're looking for a Norway-focused experience with more inclusions built into the trip price, we'd recommend taking a look at Contiki's Scandinavia tour. This 12-day journey through Denmark, Norway, and Sweden includes accommodation, transportation, most breakfasts, several dinners, and a number of included experiences, including visits to iconic Norwegian destinations such as Oslo, Voss, the Sognefjord region, and the spectacular Geiranger Fjord. Compared to Norway Fjords & Northern Lights, which is designed with more flexibility and optional activities, Scandinavia includes a greater number of experiences as part of the overall trip price, making it a great option for travellers who prefer to have more of their sightseeing and activities included upfront.   Which airport should I choose that is near where we're meeting? And when I arrive, how do I know who and where to meet? Is there any specific instruction on how to meet the tour when I arrive? Are there any pdf files I can read to know more about information like how to prepare for the tour?

    Based on the itinerary, the tour begins and concludes in Tromsø, making Tromsø Airport (TOS) the preferred airport for both arrival and departure. The Kick Start meeting will be held at approximately 16:00 on Day 1 in the first day hotel at Moxy Tromso. A welcome email will be sent to you 7 to 5 days before your trip begins, introducing your Trip Manager along with their name and contact number, specific joining instructions, and other useful information for your departure.

    The adventures we offer will not include international airfare, as travelers can join the trip from many different countries. You will be responsible for booking your own flights to meet at the starting city of your adventure. We additionally recommend you do not book your airfare until your place is confirmed and guaranteed to depart.

  we are interested but we are over 35 years old, is that a problem? Are all tours with English speaking guides? I wanted to ask if there is whale/orca sightings? And regarding flights how and at what times are they arranged or purchased.

    Since this is a fixed guided itinerary, additional nightly Northern Lights tours cannot be added directly to the schedule. However, if you'd like to explore options outside the set program, you can coordinate with the trip manager during the tour. They'll be able to give guidance and suggestions on how best to fit personal plans around the group activities.
    
    Yes, you can arrive a day prior to the start, as this allows you to rest and ensures a smooth beginning, especially since the Kick Start meeting is scheduled for approximately 16:00 on Day 1. We can also check availability of a pre hotel accommodation once you have a booking.
    
    Regarding accommodations, triple rooms are not available; for three travelers, the options would be either one single and one twin room, or twin share (one will be paired with another guest of same gender) and one twin room. This way, everyone is comfortably accommodated while keeping within the available room types.
