  I am very happy with this tour, and all the hotels provided were comfortable. Having the same driver from start to finish was truly a great advantage. Our driver, Bablu, was extremely friendly and has been conducting Buddha tours for a long time, which made the journey even more meaningful. The itinerary covers all the key destinations where Lord Buddha lived and delivered his sermons. Most of the places visited are in the rural parts of India, making the journey a deeply spiritual experience. We were given ample time at each site to understand and reflect on Buddhist teachings and culture. I highly recommend this tour to everyone who has an interest in learning about Buddhism and its rich cultural heritage.Show more

  My husband and I wanted to visit places related to Lord Buddha but were unsure how to plan the journey until we found this wonderful tour. We had a private driver who was extremely friendly and highly experienced with this particular route. All the hotels were comfortable and offered good breakfast. Visiting the sacred places we had always wished to see was a truly memorable experience. We highly recommend this tour to everyone.Show more

  The team at Varanasi Excursion are great to work with and really know how to look after their guests. My tour began with some additional time in Varanasi which they arranged at my request (see separate review). The seven-day Buddhist Tour that followed was brilliantly organised to include all the major sites in the life of the Buddha, and the guides were all informative, although I struggled to understand some of their English. Special mention must go to T K Roy of Kushinagar, who not only had the clearest English but is a fascinating person who seems to have a high standing in his community, as he was greeted warmly wherever we went. Bablu, the driver for the whole tour, is another great character who navigates the hectic Indian roads with a level of skill that is almost superhuman. Nothing is too much trouble for him and he is great at engaging his guests on a personal level. Again, English communication was a challenge, but we overcame it with the help of translation apps. I didn’t meet Aamir, the tour organiser, in person, but he checked in regularly by phone to ensure that everything was going smoothly and arranged for some of my belongings to be couriered to me when they were accidentally left behind - very helpful. Overall, this was a great tour, and some of the hotels were first-rate, although I was disappointed to spend a few nights without hot water and often struggled to find staff who could converse in English. I was touring in the off-season, but I got the impression that many of the staff were not used to dealing with international guests.Show more

  Great pilgrimage! Beautiful people! This is a unique opportunity to visit the sacred Buddhist sites in India and Nepal. I feel I gained knowledge, friendships, and a love and respect for India and its beautiful, friendly, smiling people. Everything we could possibly think of was attended to from the start. Kasif was patient & accountable to my each & every questions ( i had a lot ). In general, not all experiences can be better, more experienced, but humble guides that allowed us to own our premises and provide a useful structure for the group to meet and deepen our everyday experience by supplementing the temples, the Tibetan museum and more. Thank you so much for turning my dream come true for my visit to India for this particular Buddhist trip.Show more
